Does anyone know where to buy them, how much they cost &/or what they fry them in?

I've gotten them near haunted mansion for $3.50. Sorry I don't know how they are made but I know they're delicious!

Churros are long stick like pastries that are like fritters. They are made of flour, sugar and veggie oil with water. They are deep fried in veggie oil. Usually, but not always, they are sprinkled with cinammon and sugar after the frying, while still hot.

:hippie:

We just made homemade churros last night, out of Pillsbury biscuit mix. Easy and SUPER yummy!

During our DLR vacations, we usually don't want to fork over the money for churros in the parks (we're a family of 6 - that's a lot of dough for churros - pun intended). Instead, we head over to El Pollo Loco during our afternoon break (we often buy a meal there during the day, because it's relatively healthy, for fast food - and very yummy), and buy churros there (2 for $1). :)

LOL. I know what churros are you guys ;)

I just wanted to try one when i go to DLR and i needed to know if they fry them in animal fat, because i wouldn't be able to eat them.

I'll ask when i get there but i wanted to see if anyone on here knew :)

Nope, they're veggie-friendly :thumbsup2. And technically they're not fried at the booth. They're fried and then frozen and the booth just has a little conveyor belt type toaster that heats them back up and gets them nice and crispy.

I bought one from a cart at Fantasyland while my daughter was on the Carrousel! Don't know what they are fried in though!:goodvibes

I know who I would ask he stops by every few days so hopfully with some patience he will find his way to the thread.

You will be able to find churro carts with relative ease. I'd guess after ice cream and popcorn they are the third most common snack cart. So you may not see it but Churros are probably always 50 yards away from you.

I would agree!!:thumbsup2

Churro carts are all OVER the parks.....they are one of my favorites!! I LOVE them!! They are $3.50 and well worth it IMO. :)

Okay cool, I havent been to DL in a while and i was forgetting if they were from a cart or a restraunt type place. I guess it makes more sense for them to be from a cart anyways though. ;)

I'll just ask the CM working if they are fried in animal fat before I buy it just to be careful :)
(i'm really paranoid about that)

Thanks guys!!

they arent fried in animal fat... im pretty sure it isnt... i know our chimichanga are fried in vegetable oil...

they are however, hooked, then sent through an oven...

I forgot to mention that one of the primary ingredients is crack, which is why I can't help but buy one almost every time I step into the park.

I could be wrong about this but I am 99.9% sure that all cooking oils are vegetable based. Corn (which is probably the one they use), olive, coconut (my fave), safflower, etc...

The common animal based fat is butter of course, but is rarely used for frying, if ever. There are animal based oils like lanolin but those aren't really for edible consumption even though they are safe (but not to cook with).

Hope that helps! Churros are delish!
