Churro Waffles- Concierge Only?

What will be the next item that gets hit with a pay wall?
Not a paywall per se... but I could see them cutting out turndown service for all non concierge rooms (I know some don't enjoy it but I really, really do.)

I could see with the lines for the shows getting so crazy and how everyone wants an early BG, DCL coming out with their own add on for "priority access" that is behind concierge but before general public for boarding and seats to shows.

We lost Happy Hours already and now the churro waffles. We lost the live animation classes and its now basically a glorified Youtube tutorial playing on a screen... Heck I could see the Royal Gathering being added as an upcharge activity with the direction DCL seems to be heading in

I think the bigger picture need to not be on if you personally like turn down, eat churro waffles, used the happy hour specials, or miss the live animation classes but that these cuts might eventually come for the very thing that you do enjoy if we just keep allowing DCL to make these choices without changing spending our habits and not sharing our negative feedback directly with DCL.

I read online (so I take it with a grain of salt) that they will be served in Concierge and offered for a fee to non concierge...so an upcharge to have them. Again, this has not been confirmed by anything official from Disney. I would be very upset by this....just on principle. First charging for snack foods in the pubs when it used be complimentary and now, if true, upcharging for the churro waffles. Leaves a bitter taste...

Ok, this is what I read. What is with them charging for snacks in a pub but they were free previously? Can you explain?

Happy Hours? I rarely drink, but I will every now and then. Did they replace it with Sad Hours?

Pay for early dining? Toilet paper-? Cha-ching!😅😅😅😅

We also lost character breakfast on sailings with 3+ sea days, ice sculptures and all the fun decorations on embarkation day.
I really hope they don't stop evening turn down. It's just a part of cruising that I enjoy. Not to mention all the bunk beds and Murphy beds to be set up.

It is starting to feel like death by a thousand cuts honestly. Several of the Marvel Day at Sea sailings in 2026 are not having pirate night fireworks when in the past themed cruises have had both (on different nights). I know many ppl were excited to see all the discounts for DCL but this is sadly the fall out- to keep profits where they have been DCL will start cutting back more and more... :sad1:

Ok. I personally would trade churro waffles, turn down service, free pub snacks, decorations on embarkation day, etc for cheaper fares. I can’t be the only one. None of these small things make or break my cruise.

So for the current discounted prices, you would be okay with losing these items? Example of discounts the lowest discounts I am seeing GTY 2ppl, 7 N Western Treasure $4,250 VGT in Jan, or one of the cheapest I can find IGT 4 Night Dream $1,750 in April. Would you still sail at these prices with less and less offerings?

Can I ask what does make your cruise? Or at what point you would feel DCL is not worth it vs another line?

Yes. A 7 night DCL cruise for around $4000 seems reasonably priced - I would give up all of the small extras for a lower price. We are super easy. We just want to relax in the shade in an adult only area and read a book, listen to music and watch the ocean. We like a walking track, a nice gym, good food at dinner, music and drinks before dinner, and some adult only trivia and entertainment. We very rarely see any of the broadway shows, never see characters or attend any of the family activities.

I have never had a churro waffle, do they even have them in the parks? They seem to be to die for with mostly everyone loving them and singing thier praises, lol. But with them serving them on the ship, what the last day of the voyage, to everyone and then pulling back and only allowing CL guest to get them, is a horrible, desperate look for Disney. I mean, this is screams greed.

Its seems like yes, they realize they may have hit a price ceiling, on top of a bigger inventory than they need.

Some of the pubs used to have a buffet of snacks such as chips and salsa, small pretzels, and maybe cookies available for the taking throughout the day. Then those were removed and some of the bars on most or all of the ships added more substantial snacks for a fee, such as large pretzels with cheese at the sports bars and beignets or zeppoles at the jazz bars. Most bars (at least on the older ships) provide a complimentary nut tray when a beverage is ordered.

Thank you for you answer! :flower3: I am curious as to why you cruise DCL when almost all of the things you seem to enjoy can be had on other cruise lines for a much lower price point (and still with wonderful service). I think 4,250 for 2 ppl in a VGT isn't the worst price but it is much more expensive than most cruise lines for a similar itinerary and it seems like the other lines would offer exactly what you seem to enjoy

At one time, on the Magic and Wonder, they put out a whole snack bar of appetizer type foods like hot dogs, nachos, other nibbles inside of the pubs. in the evenings that was complementary. Then they started offering a pub menu with things like Big Pretzels and other food that you pay for.

Now to be honest, I do not know currently if they still offer the free goodies or its just the paid bar menu on the classic ships but I know there were no complimentary offerings on the Wish Class ships....same with Cove Cafe....Wish class ships do not have the complimentary pastries in Cove Cafe like the other ships do.

We just paid $2310.94 VGT for 5 nights on the Dream. Oct 25-30.

I remember the Magic having lots of food in the adult areas. We never really spend a lot of time there so we never ate any of it. We'd go to a show in Rockin Bar D and go to bed.

The start of the lines in Cabanas on the Magic. You could either go to the right or to the left.
