Hi all,

I cant wait as my hubby and I go to wdw on 31st July. We are DVC members and this will be our 5th visit.

We never hire a car and seem to manage fine. I was just wondering though if anyone can tell me what is happening regarding church street station.

Has it closed down? We have never been and this year we were hoping to go there as we had heard really good reports. But I heard recently that it had been closed for years.

We were going to take a shuttle with mears ther,e but I don't want to look like an idiot booking something that does not exsist.

Any info at all would be good, if it is open what do people recommend?

Many Thanks

I think it is pretty much gone - I remember visiting Rosie O'Grady's in, erm, 1999.. Think it closed a year or so later.

Downtown Disney, Citywalk, Boardwalk etc - seemed to have killed off Church Street.

Funny how many websites still refer to Chruch Street as being Orlando's number one nightspot...!

But, it has indeed closed down - although a music mogul appears to have bought the rights to redevelop the area.

Yes, CSS closed a good two years ago now and, while Lou Pearlman, the new co-owner (and creator of various boy-bands) has plans to redevelop it as an office and entertainment complex, absoutely nothing has happened yet, or is likely to in the near future. The only things in the whole of what used to be CSS (Rosie O'Grady's Good-time Emporium, the Cheyenne Saloon, The Orchid Room, Phineas Phogg's disco, Apple Annie's lounge, Lili Marleen's and Crackers restaurants) right now are the Sports Bar (in what used to be Apple Annie's) and the Comedy Improv Club (in Rosie O'Grady's). It's all a bit sad really.

I echo SimonV's statement that the closing of CSS is really sad. We always enjoyed an evening at CSS it was a refreshing change to the usual theme park entertainment although we do enjoy both CW and DD.
