Has anybody ever gone to the church services at the Poly? I reaad somewhere that they have a protestant service I think at 9am. I wonder if this is still in effect. DS is shooting for perfect attendance at Sunday School and we will miss shortly (to be at WDW  ). They will not count the absence if you bring in a program from an out of town church service. I wonder if they even have programs? Anybody ever go? If so, what can you tell me about it?

TIA!

I read somewhere that all of the services on WDW proper have been permanently cancelled (not surprising with some of Disney's politics, wouldn't want to offend anyone, eh?] There are apparently several churches offsite nearby. Congratulations to your DS on his attendance...hopefully you'll be able to keep his streak going! :goodvibes

I'm glad WDW decided not to offend anyone - of course they have the right to do what ever they want, but if they decided to have church services for just one religion, which one should be picked? And what does politics have to do with it?

Well, that's too bad. And BTW, the info I found on this (which seems to be way old) described a Catholic service, then a protestant one at another hour. I also want to say I saw something about a Jewish ceremony too. It did seem they were trying to accommodate a good number of religions.

I guess we'll have to look off-site. I imagine the hotel desk may have info??

That would be a nice way to do it - seems like there would be something for most everyone, and they could add Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu ones, etc, as well. Maybe they decided to use the space for something else?

You could probably have great success googling the Orlando area for a church of your denomination, and then giving them a call to make sure the info is up to date?

I have vague recollections of going to a church service at one of the disney hotels more than 10 years ago and it was sorry to say really sad. Very poor attendance and taped in music. So needless to say we decided to go offsite - we tend to visit First Baptist church of Orlando which is a pretty big church and has a good christmas service too. http://www.firstorlando.com/ Hope you find somewhere to worship!
