Anyone else have a little one in love with the Chuggington trains? My two and a half year old grandson has recently discovered them. It all began a few months ago, when I put the Disney channel on for him early one morning and Chuggington came on. He is absolutely enthralled with the show and the toy trains.

I've bought him some of the die-cast Chuggington trains and he loves them. I like the fact that they're quite a bit less expensive than the Thomas trains.:thumbsup2 They also seem very well made (so are the Thomas trains). He has a Chuggington DVD that he would leave on all day on a continous loop if we let him. It is a cute show, though, filled with colorful trains and other characters. I actually find the episodes more appealing than the Thomas stories. They seem more childlike and playful.

That theme song, though, can really get stuck in one's head! "Chugga, chugga, chugga, chugga, chuggington..." Our grandson knows the whole song and likes to sing it...a lot...:rotfl:

Anyone have any of the other Chuggington toys? Any of the larger, interactive trains, or any of the track or playsets? I'm curious if they're as well-made as the smaller, die cast trains.

Bumping for the weekday dissers.:) Anyone have any first-hand experience with any of the Chuggington merchandise?

my DS loves Chuggington too! He is also a big big Thomas fan.
we have some wooden Chuggingtons and also some of the die cast. but that is it. Can't help with any of the other merchandise.

now if you asked about Thomas..............I think we have every thing ever made..........LOL

There aren't a lot of Chuggington toys out there but there are some playsets:

In the US they sell the diecast ones, but we recently picked up some wooden ones (ie, Thomas-track compatible) in Toronto. They were pricier than Thomas ones - but we didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to buy all the playsets too when he can just use his Thomas and Brio playsets with the Chuggington trains (I've heard the wheels on the diecast ones do not fit the wooden tracks).

ETA: I guess the wooden Chuggs are available in the US now too (they weren't at Xmas time). Learning Curve makes them:

Thanks so much! Yeah, my grandson loves all the Thomas trains, too! I didn't realize Chuggington makes wooden trains as well as the die cast ones. That's nice that the wooden ones fit on the Thomas tracks.

You're right, though, the die cast ones don't fit properly. Not that it stops my grandson from using them on it!:) The wheel base is just a bit too narrow to fit over the middle part of the track, but they can still "run" on the track.
