Christmas

We put our outside lights up last weekend. We have not turned them on but to check that they all work.

I have put up our downstairs Christmas tree, but it is not yet decorated. Maybe I will get to that this weekend. :)

I will probably do it this weekend as well as will be nice out but won't turn on until Thanksgiving.

Seriously? It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early. I MAYBE can understand outside lights only because the weather is supposed to be so nice, but inside stuff? Put up the tree? No way. No Christmas in my house until it's actually December.

I purchased a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree and it arrived yesterday. It is my only decoration for now, but I love it.

:goodvibes

We need to get the house cleaned up (really just dust and vacuum) and then we will be decking our halls as well. I'm aiming to have Christmas almost taken care of shopping, etc... before we leave for WDW. Last year we didn't have our tree up until Christmas Eve due to renovations so I'd like to enjoy them this year, plus we plan to go through our plethora of boxes and donate many items to a needy family. Since we've collected so much over the years we want to share.

We have a young cat (15 months) and he gets in to everything! Last year he actually climbed the tree and knocked it over. So this year now that he is bigger we are debating even putting up a tree. We live in an apartment and generally put a string of lights on the patio, but not until December. I dont have any other decor to put out (yet...)

No decorations here in our apartment.
I leave on the 4th, return home on the 19th.
Gonna keep things real simple here.

I am really going to enjoy the holiday decor in the parks, the resorts and on the ship. Those will be my holiday decorations this year.

DH just told me that he'd like me to start putting the decorations up ... Tomorrow (Friday) and that he'll put up the tree (:scared1:) when he gets home tomorrow night. Great. Start the weekend off with the annual Christmas tree fight. ;)

The only reason why I'm giving in is because we're leaving for WDW the day after Thanksgiving () and I know I'll be in no mood to haul out the decorations (And put them up) when we return. Christmas around the corner or not, I'm sure I'll have just a touch of the Disney Blues.

I also just saw the cutest Charlie Brown/Peanuts Christmas decorations in CVS that I just have to have! I kind of feel like I'm "cheating" on Mickey and the Gang, but it's all about Charlie Brown (And anything from "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ... Rankin/Bass TV special) in my house at Christmastime.

Happy Decorating, everybody! :santa:

We're decorating this weekend too! :santa: It's going to be nice for DH with the outside lights since the weather is still nice here. I always feel bad for the guy when he's on the roof and it's 30 degrees and snowing outside! :scared:

Every store was sold out of Charlie Brown Christmas trees last year! :sad1:
I was just on Amazon and they have some in stock (Plus a gazillion other Charlie Brown Christmas items that I want). I'm going to order! :santa:

This thread reminded me of what the radio station I listen to in the mornings does when people decorate before Thanksgiving.

They find a house in the Chicago area (usually nominated by a neighbor) and send out the Angry Pilgrim to swipe their decorations until Thanksgiving. I believe they set up the decorations for the homeowners in exchange for holding them "hostage".

I like seeing decorations after Thanksgiving. I used to feel badly about not decorating because I don't celebrate Christmas, until I got old enough to appreciate all the WORK involved by my friends who do! All I have to do is take a candle holder out of a box and put it back 8 days later. :rotfl2:

Until Santa comes down my street at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, it isn't the holiday season. Sheesh. :woohoo:

Being Canadian we have the luxury of Thanksgiving being finished in early October, so traditionally we wait until after Remembrance Day (respect for those serving and veterans) until putting up decorations and lights. I'm about to vacuum and DH is bringing up the boxes! I'm looking forward to a nice family day today.

Ours will get started the week of Thanksgiving...with getting ready for the cruise, it's going to be a rush time wize.....and since I won't be able to lift much, I'll do more supervising than anything else.

I have soooo much to do, must work on FE this next week....DD has to pull suitcases down and start packing...

Tree is up!! Inside is decorated, didn't work on the outside, a tad cold. Hoping for a warm day this week.
