What do you think are the best places to eat at around Christmastime? We are going and will be gone for Christmas. The trip will include me, DH, DD 17, and niece 19. Any input would be appreciated.

I think you may have very limited options if you have not made adrs yet for this year. Most have done so at 90 days out. If you do have any options, I have been to Artist Point for xmas dinner and the atmosphere is very festive, the fireplace and xmas tree at WL are wonderful; we also have had very late dinner at CG (9PM) and got to see wishes from the restaurant and had a great meal; xmas eve we did CP package and dinner at Le Cellier(this I thin will not be an option at this late date). Good Luck and hope you find a nice family meal for the holiday! We have also gone for a late breakfast(10:30am) at 1900 PF and the meal and characters are wonderful!(we do not go to a park on the holiday..too crazy even for us!

Before giving you my choices I just wanted to say that you should try to make dining reservations (known as ADRs) as soon as possible. The booking window for Christmas has been open for a couple of weeks and you may find yourself shut out of places you'd like to eat if you wait much longer.

If you can't get the ADRs you want, keep trying. Many have reported being able to snag ARDs close to their trip...most likely from cancellations of other guests...so keep trying!

That said, I have teens too and my table-service choices would be...
  • Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Downtown Disney Westside (so good!)
  • Tutto Italia at EPCOT (or any of the ethnic restaurants you'd be interested in trying...Tutto is our favorite)
  • The Plaza at the Magic Kingdom (a "don't miss" for us)
  • Sanaa at Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (wonderful!)
  • Boma at Jambo House at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (great buffet!)
  • And...if you can get it...'Ohana at the Polynesian
For counter-service we'd choose...
  • Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney Marketplace
  • Flame Tree Barbecue at the Animal Kingdom
  • Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney (2 locations - one at the Marketplace, one at the Westside)
  • Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT
  • Tangerine Cafe at EPCOT
Some great places to try for, that don't tend to book up right away, are...
  • Biergarten at EPCOT
  • Marrakesh at EPCOT
  • Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian Resort
  • The Wave at the Contemporary Resort
  • Raglan Road at Downtown Disney Westside
Have a great vacation!

Places we (DH, DS15, DS13, and myself) like to go are:

Biergarten-Epcot (Germany)
Chef Mickey's- (Contemporary)
Teppan Edo-Epcot (Japan)
Mama Melrose-Hollywood Studios
50's Prime Time Cafe-Hollywood Studios
Raglan Road-Downtown Disney
Le Cellier-Epcot (Canada)
Boma-Animal Kingdom Lodge
Hollywood and Vine- Hollywood Studios
House of Blues- Downtown Disney

You might still be able to get Biergarten and it is beautiful for Christmas. Try lunch.

The best places at this point, are the places you can dining reservations at...Disney Table service hardly take walk ups at non busy times of year, and Christmas is the busiest disney ever gets

12/25 Whispering Canyon Cafe
12/26 Sci-Fi Dine-In

I think you made some great choices! :thumbsup2

You did good! :thumbsup2
We have an ADR at WCC on Christmas too. We actually have ADRs for the same restaurants as you with the exception of Sci Fi. However ours are on different days.

Hi guys! I'll see you at WCC on Christmas day too! I got a noon ressie. No dinner left over when I tried. Hope they have the special skillet for lunch too!:santa:

Liberty Tree Tavern has the best Christmas-style food. They have great traditional holiday options that are on many tables during a Christmas feast. We also LOVED the Christmas decorations at 50's PTC. So cute! The decorations at Wilderness Lodge are some of the most beautiful in all of WDW & you'll get to appreciate those when you go to Whispering Canyon. Another favorite of ours is Biergarten in Epcot. The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated & they have a Christmas themed show. It's one of our traditions.

If I were you I would spend some time looking at all the menus on this site and on All Ears to get ideas and then go online to get all the reservations you can. We go every Christmas and there is nothing worse than trying to get lunch or dinner at a CS when it's that crowded. If you're stuck doing that, I'd suggest lunch at 10:30 and dinner at 4:00 or so.

We stay off site in condos and usually eat off site but I have reservations inside the parks just so we won't need to wander around with a tray of food, looking for a nice garbage can to use as a table. :sad2:
