We've bit the bullet and made reservations for week prior to Christmas....do the ships get any special decorations or entertainment at this time of year? thanks.

My understanding is the decorations go up after Thanksgiving.
We were on the New Years Eve cruise, and know they were up through New Years, and we watched them being taken down as we waited to get off the ship the last day. Watched two guys with hammers demolish the gingerbread house next to Luminieres.

The atrium area is the most decorated - there is a huge Christmas tree that is great for pictures, lots of garland on the staircases, and the large gingerbread house that is also good for kid's pictures. The decorations are very nice - makes it very festive!

Yes, the terminal as well as the ship is beautifully done..

On castawayclub dot you know what, Barb has some pictures up to show you a little..

There was lots of decorating done on the december cruise we were on! A huge tree in the main lobby area and much more throughout the ship!

The ships are decorated mid November. We were lucky enough to be surprised by this on our first cruise 11/15/03. :) The greens were up when we boarded & the huge tree in the atrium appeared over night and surprised us in the morning. We actually thought that we had missed the second lobby the day before. LOL! I have a website showing pictures but Ivillage has closed down & is transferring to another site. I'll post the link when I find out what it is.

The ship was decorated on our Thanksgiving Western last year.....they play some "regee" chrismas music which is pretty cool. Castaway Cay was not decorated on our first stop Sunday, but WAS decorated on the second stop on Friday......

The ship was all decorated for christmas on the Nov. 14-18, 04 Wonder pin trading cruise. It was very neat to see the ship decorated this way. My main regret is that we never waited in line for a formal picture next to the very beautiful tree!

Disney does a great job of decorating the ship at Christmastime. They even had a Christmas tree up on the mast of the ship! From the terminal which is your first taste of it, to the ship itself, and then to CC it is all wonderful!

The Christmas decorations are absolutely beautiful! This is one reason we often cruise at this time of year...it is very festive!

I think that the kids enjoyed the snow at CC the best. LOL! They kept running around trying to catch the flakes & we wanted to get to the beach. :)
