Christmas trees- real or artificial

Just wondering how many people buy real trees each year and how much you pay. We buy 2 real trees- 1 for the family room and 1 for the living room- 10ft. -cost $125, 6 ft. cost $45.

11 to 12 foot real Fraser Fir, locally grown, $50 last year. Plus they may a special stand that has a spike that sticks up the middle -- perfect everytime!

I'm a an artificial girl, because I like christmas to last as long as possible. Ours goes up the day after thanksgiving and stays up until new years. Weve always had young kids and pets around so we always have a fake one at my grandparents house. My mother on the otherhand is DEATHLY afraid of fires and for some reason she feels safer with a fake one then a real one!

We've been using artificial for quite a few years. Every so often we get a real one only to remind us of why we like artificial.

There's nothing like the smell of a real tree, but the mess off-sets that really fast. My wife likes the tree up from just after Thanksgiving to after New Years and artificial is the best way to go. As it is, the two cats will certainly make that a challenge...

We always get a real tree. I think usually around 6ft and it costs around $30. We get the soft kind with short needles...don't remember the name. I plan on getting our tree on Saturday...would get it on Friday but we'll be at the LSU game (GO TIGERS!)

I would LOVE to go real, but DH CLAIMS to be alergic. Last year we bought an 8ft (I believe?) pre-lit tree and we love it. All we have to do is hang the orniments I miss the smell, but as my MIL says, that's why they make scented candles.

Waiting till Thanksgiving and getting the 6ft pre lit tree Big Lots is selling!

This is my first Christmas with a fake tree. I must say I LOVE it. I knew I would. It's prelit and looks pretty darned real to me. I was sick of picking up pine needles and refilling the water, and then disposing of the stupid thing - dragging it down the stairs and leaving pine needles all over the place.

The only reason I got a fake one is because DH is out of town. He would NEVER have gone for this if he was here to squawk about it.
