Christmas Tree?

We go to the mountains to cut our tree on Black Friday every year. DS has a girlfriend this year who loves "real" trees but her family can't have one due to her sister's asthma. She will be going with us to pick out a tree this year. I think she's pretty excited about it!

My town has little live trees it puts on stoplight poles. They usually start before Halloween. But they aren't lit up until Black Friday.

Personally, I won't buy our tree until after Thanksgiving.

Nope, DD10's bday is Dec 15th so we let her lead the way but there is NO way that anyone in this family would want any decorations up before Tgiving at the earliest....we love Christmas but not that much! lol We normally take the decorations down from the garage storage when we put the Halloween stuff back up tho so we will pull everything down and just set it aside so it's easy to get to for Christmas.

The earliest my dh will let me is the day after thanksgiving! He would never let me do it earlier lol. I do wish I could get him to put up the outside lights though.:santa:

For some reason I'm wanting to see a little Christmas stuff early this year as well - but we get a real tree, so that part isn't going to happen yet.

Black Friday to New Year's Day.
Although I did change my doorbell chime to Christmas music...we went right from "Howling Ghost" to "Christmas Medley".

Of course, there really isn't any kind of Thanksgiving music....ast least not on my doorbell chime.

I love it!!! I haven't put up my Christmas stuff yet but now I kinda want to. I should've known that people who love Disney will also love Christmas!! It's all about the magic! I love the people here on the boards!!

Ha! That's funny, I was just thinking about starting a thread asking if anyone thought it would be too early to put it up for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm thinking about having turkey day at my house for the first time in a few years, and then one of my brothers would have Christmas, so it would be unlikely that I would have visitors during the Christmas season. And I love my tree, and would like to have it up for my family when they come for t-day -- maybe I will!

Yuk No!! We get a real tree and put it up the first or second weekend in December and then take it down as quick as I can after Christmas. I like it up for a couple weeks, but that's all I can take.

I love Christmas, but I don't want a tree in my living room for more than a couple weeks.

I am going to put up my outside decorations. I hate waiting till December it's till cold out.

We have our tree up already. We all did it Tuesday night. Just my tree for now. I love looking at it!

We used to put ours up on Thanksgiving every year - while the turkey was cooking..:goodvibes

DD "tries" to get hers up the weekend after Thanksgiving or so, but her DH really drags his feet when it comes to getting the stuff down from the attic.. I think part of it is because he knows what's going to happen as soon as the tree is up and/or the house is decorated for Christmas.. "The Scrooge" will come out in full force (his dad).. His father has never, ever liked Christmas - is as miserable as all get out - and can't just leave it at that.. He has to try to make everyone else as miserable about it as he is.. It's gotten to the point where he won't even allow DD's MIL to have a tree anymore.. (Although last year and the year before my DGD bought a small, live table-top tree at the Garden Center with her own money and brought it over so they could "decorate it together".. Smart kid.. Knew he wouldn't turn her away..;) ) Of course he has no problems eating all the cookies we make - LOL - but that's a whole 'nother story.. I figure if we're lucky, we'll get the tree up the 1st week of December..:goodvibes

I usually put mine up the weekend before Thanksgiving because hubby leaves for the hunting camp every year on Thanksgiving night and wont be home until Sunday. I need him to help get all three trees out and the 20 boxes that goes with them LOL.

I think I will do it early though this year . I bought a new tree today and started doing the moving of the couches to dust baseboards and clean blinds etc. I plan to spend the weekend doing my major fall cleaning and will prob have trees up by next weekend, which is very early for us but I am in the mood , plus really wanting to get into my decorations to send what I don't want to Good will and go buy a few new goodies to freshen things up a bit.

We have lots of family BD parties in Nov & Dec I usually like to get through before decorating. We have 3 the first week of Dec, so the tree and decorations usually go up soon as celebrations are over. I love the house all festive for C'mas! :goodvibes
