Christmas treats at GF

Does anyone know when they start to sell the special christmas treats (gingerbread and character chocolates, etc.) at the Grand Floridian?

What kind of treats? We're going to the World in Dec and we'll be visiting the GF while we're there and I'm looking for different holiday things to see and do while we're there. Do they sell gingerbread houses?

I first saw the GF Gingerbread House and treats on a dining review by MickiNikki. I then read about it on allears.net in a guest blog. The treats look delicious. It says you can buy gingerbread house shingles, chocolate character statues, small gingerbread houses, gingerbread ornaments, character lollipops (I believe in both gingerbread and chocolate). I believe I won't be there as they apparently sell the treats after the Gingerbread House is completed .

We stayed at GF in 2007 and left on the Saturday8th November - the gingerbread house was due to open on the Monday 10th.

During the week of 1st-8th they built the house. First erecting the template walls and then covering day by day with gingerbread and decorating with candy sticks etc. Each evening they were handing around the gingerbread which had been cut from the roof and walls around to the guests.

It's usually open sometime around the 2nd week of November - usually towards the end of it. I think it's pretty much always been open prior to Thanksgiving.

I had a gingerbread item a few years ago - thought it was gross. Maybe I don't like gingerbread though (I don't normally eat gingerbread at xmas time).

That's exciting! Can you use snack credits for this?

They may allow them for a very limited number of the cheapest items. I think there were 2 items with the snack sign near them- maybe single sugar cookies and a packaged item(available in gift shops). The shingles are $8 I think and the houses are at least $25- not available with DDP credits.
