Christmas shopping

I started but I've only bought for 1 person so far- and only put a small dent into the overall list. Really small dent.
For my 4yr old neice- I got 2 of the Fisher price doll house sets- a laundry room and a bedroom. These were b1g1 at TRU a few weeks ago, these will be to her from my son. Then I also got her from dh and I two Hello Kitty DVD's also same TRU sale- when they were b1g1 1/2 off. Then I got her the same day a really cute mama dog that has 2 or 3 puppies inside. It was on clearance for $7.99 and I know she'd just love it (plus it's pink and she loves anything pink).
So, yep that's it. I'm going outlet shopping Veteran's Day weekend so I'll get my neice and nephew's outfit and pj's then. They have a Kirkland's and I hope to get a good dent into my mom's gifts then, and also pick up some clothing for ds. Then I hope to put a HUGE dent into the rest of everyone the day after Thanksgiving.
Since we don't have credit cards- we do an all cash holiday. Dh and I don't get each other anything until right before Christmas, when we know if we have everything else bought, the bills still paid, and any money left over. We always are able to get each other gifts, so it works out nice.

I bought a few things online last night. I do most of mine via catalog and online, with a few trips to a few specialty stores for different stuff. I am so done with schlepping through the mall for hours and buying everyone a sweater. I try to find menaingful gifts.

Ok, that brings me to the next question..........I have a 2 yr old, when do I know if I am going overboard or being cheap? :confused3

Honestly at that age they don't have a clue. Save your $ for when it does matter - which will be here before you know it :rotfl: . When DD was 2 she got the Thomas starter train set, a baby doll, and small stuff like finger paints. I think in total we spent $50-60.

Think volume when wrapping. They love opening things. For instance, if you buy a multi-pack of playdough break it apart and wrap each one seperately.

I really just got started. We have decided on what we want to get each person but have only purchased one thing. I am keeping my eye out for the lowest possible price on everything else AND I plan to make a few gifts this year.

I have a really good start already this year. We think we finished DD6 off this morning when we ordered a tumbling mat for the house. DS3 we have somethings but we are waiting for our prize from the Cars License to Win. DH won a preschool prize pack with many different Cars toys. So we are going to use some of those items. Now it is on to the extended family which really has to stop. I see them maybe twice a year. I think it is pointless to exchange gifts. Their company would be enough for me but that is a different thread.

I'm about half done. I pick things up all year round and store it in the basement. Clearance is a wonderful thing, unfortunately, many of my nieces and nephews are getting too old for toys now! I just can't believe that it's time for this already! :scared1:

WELLLLLL I AM ALLLLL DONE....BECAUSE I NEVER STARTED.......BECAUSE I AM NOT BUYING ANYTHING THIS YEAR.... :cool1: :cool1:

The family is all going to LONDON and PARIS...so guess what, NO tree, NO lights, NO gifts to wrap....NOTHING AT ALLLLLL...as everyone I would buy for is going with me :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We have all been saving and we all decided to put our money into our vacation. All our relatives will be celebrating on the LONDON EYE on Christmas Day after an evening spent at St. Paul's Cathedral....ahhhh...so sweet :goodvibes

My sons are 24&20....so it is allll gooood.....we are counting down the days!!!!

Almost done!!! WOOHOO! I'm a full time nursing student and SAHM to three kids with busy schedules. I have a month off starting Dec 12 and I just want to relax and enjoy Christmas with my family :)

As much as I love Christmas.. I haven't started my shopping yet.

Just started here Sunday with the Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 game free video game offer. I remember shopping early last year and found that everything I had already bought on sale was cheaper right after Thanksgiving so we are delaying unless the offer is really good.

I started shopping in September in Disney. And I have been purchasing since we got back. :santa:
Can't say I'm almost done, though.
Have to buy for DH and oldest son. My little guys are much easier.

That's what I did!!!! Her loves books, so I bought a lot this year and wrapped them individually so he has more to open!!!!!

Well, I tried to start. I went to Toys R Us a couple of weeks ago & bought some Leap Pad books, buy one get one free. Then I headed to the mall to pick up some new hoodies for the kids. When I walked into the house, after shopping all day like a mad woman, the kids came running to see what I bought. Wouldn't you know, I handed the Toys R Us bag to my DS5! What the heck was I thinking? So, I guess I started, but it didn't go over too well.

I am almost finished. Other than DH, the only things I have to get are some gift cards. DH is hard. He really doesn't want or need anything. I hate just wrapping up the same old same old thing. I really want to WOW him this year.

I did. I still have a long ways to go, though. I am doing an overnight trip on November 10th, and hgope to get the rest of it done then. I love having it done early so I can enjoy the rest of the season without stress.

For the kiddies, not only started but we are done!!! There are only 3 items we have left to actually buy, video games that have not been released yet, but we are finished.

Now for DH, I'll still be getting his gifts 2 days before Christmas, although I am making good head way. His books for this year will bought by the end of the month. Waldenbooks is having an excellent Sci-Fi sale.

I´ve bought 4 gifts and will buy as many as I can in Copenhagen, Denmark over the weekend. A lot cheaper there than here.

I only have one or two more things to get for my kids, which is most of my shopping.
