Christmas shopping at WDW?

For those of you who go in December, how do you handle Christmas shopping? Do you just presume you'll get everybody stuff down there? Do you buy stuff before you go, and then if you see something in WDW return it?

I'm trying to figure out my game plan.

We've made a few trips down in December and each time I've tried to have all my shopping done before we leave for FL. That being said I also leave "room" to buy items I might find while shopping in the parks or DTD. We've always returned home a week or two before Christmas so I had time to wrap the Disney gifts and get them under the tree. This year our DD, DSIL, and DGSs will be making the trip with us again. DH and I are going to give our DGSs Disney Dollars to spend. That way they can shop for whatever they want. They're old enough to realize they'll be receiving early Christmas gifts by doing that.
