Christmas Shopping 2010

I just preordered Nintedo DS games Mario/Donkey Kong being released in November and Crafting Mama being released in October. I think the girls will like those.

My DD8 wants the Christmas Magic Treehouse book #44. She also likes those puppy place books. They are easy for her, but I get them for her to enjoy during Christmas break.

I'm so happy that all we have to find for both girls is a digital camera.

Happy day! I did more Christmas shopping because after wrapping a whole bunch of presents, I realized that once I set aside the gifts for the other kids, my kids did not have much. Urgh! Also, my kids started hinting at what they would like and I did not have them. At Walmart, the kids pointed out to me that the toys they wanted were no longer on the shelves and the sales lady told them they would be getting 24 of the toy in.

So today I took a drive to Target and got what they wanted on the listed. Good thing I went because I got the only Bakugan set on the floor that my son wanted. Here's the list of goodies I picked up today.

Bakugan Dragonoid Colossus
Beyblade Metal Fusion Super Vortex Battle Set
Beyblade Metal Fusion Battle Top double pack
Beyblade Metal Fusion Battle Top
Squinkies Gumball Surprise Playhouse - the last one, another lady placed three in her cart right before I got there
Squinkies Palace Surprise - also the last one on the shelf
Squinkies Bubble Pack has set of 16 Squinkies
Tech Deck Sk8 Shop Bonus Pack

Now that we have the Gumball machine, I am debating keeping the Palace. I suppose it would be a good way to display the Squinkies.

Does anyone know the exact titles of the games nemomom07 was referring to for the mario/ donkey kong ds games being released in Nov? Thanks!

I think it's Mario vs. Donkey Kong Mini-Land Mayhem, coming out Nov. 14. That's the only Mario or Donky Kong game scheduled for release on the DS in November.

I would tell you, but I am not the one that posted anything about DS games. Sorry for no help.:confused3

I just went on the Aeropostale website and they are having great sales. I'm buying my dds a hooded sweatshirt. Most of them were $17. Just figured i'd post here if anyone's got clothes/hoodies on their shopping list.

Hey guys... I'm still out here lurking :)

We should have a piece up on the Hot Wheels cars very soon. I'll be sure to let you guys know.

I just put up a quick piece on the Moxie Girlz Magic Snow on our blog.

I'm pretty pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Admittedly, I'm sure that there are tons of methods to make this stuff at home, but, it did make for a nice add-on that comes with the lineup of these new dolls.

There's a lot of new stuff hitting all at once it seems like. We are REALLY getting into the swing of things now!

Exciting!

I LOVE the Moxie Girlz Snow line! After seeing them in the store (and seeing the redheaded one who looks a bit like DD) I decided to get her a set of these and let the grandparents give her the Barbies I had bought.

I'll have to check out your review but these are the first of this kind of doll (I call them big headed Barbies LOL) that I have much cared for. They don't seem quite as "trashy" looking.

I have to admit... I was all about the snow itself. This was a grown man's review while having his little in-house reviewer help with the experiment :)

We have a lot of new reviews lined up. If there's anything you guys are interested in, let us know that too! We'll see what we can do. We'll try and get an actual doll review up as well soon!

Bought the girls some more clothes at Justice today. Then Mom and I went into the LL Bean store and she bought DH a sweatshirt and a hat, a hat for my dad and a shirt for DD1. The hat is really neat. It's a baseball cap with 3 LED in it. There are 3 settings for the lights. She owed me money so I had her get me one and I wore it tonight at the track. DD1 plays soccer until 6:45 and it was dark by then The hat was great! Another woman walking the track commented on it!

We're keeping Christmas kind of light since we are heading to Disney in 6 1/2 weeks.

WooHoo!!!:cool1::cool1: I have finished Christmas shopping for my dd 9 (will be 10 in dec). Well with the exception of black Friday. I'll end up picking up some video games and dvd's, small stuff to fill in. I'm so excited. Now I get to wrap them all LOL. One kid down and one to go. I'm almost done with my ds too. Just need 3 more small items. I get them same number of gifts and really try to stay at the same amount.

When I read about the My Meeba, I was reminded that last year I got one for my then 8 year old. She got mad because she wasn't winning the game, so without my knowledge, she beat on the tube until the little animal thing popped out. I coulda killed her! :rotfl: What a monster!

Something I'm trying to figure out is stocking stuffers for kids? Any ideas? They are 9 and 3(boys) then 8 and 6 (girls). Any suggestions? We are on a tight budget, but I don't want to put just candy, ya know?

Fuggs from Justice

Was gonna ask what a Fugg is then realized you must mean "Fake Uggs" :rotfl: Which pair did you get her? I love the foil print ones (that have sayings and peace signs on them) but they are such a light color. DD had some lt pink ones from Sears last year and the first day at school they looked HORRID!

There is a great stocking stuffer thread somewhere. The most posted item I saw was the TOOTHBRUSH! Spin brushes are big, we do them here too. I also always give a bath set (gel, lotion or body spray, deoderant for the big boys) and a chapstick or something. I like stuff they will use and, especially, USE UP!!

That's the one! It is the only one coming out with Donkey Kong. I googled it and watched the demo of it and it looks like a good game.

Check out the Marshall's or TJ Maxx's in your area. They always have all sorts of neat gadget type things for stocking stuffers. I make stockings for my teenage siblings (yes, big age difference there...the year I started college, my sister entered kindergarten!) In the past I have gotten...

laptop accessories (chill pads, portable mice, mouse pads, skins)
Phone accessories
Funky hats, socks, mittens
Gourmet candies
paperback books
Craft books
Photo cube keychains
Small stuffies
Organic lollipops (which all the kids say have AWESOME flavor)
Sleds (So that did not fit in the stocking, but it was a disc sled for 3.99!) It is amazing what you can find when you dig!

For the little ones check out your local museum gift shops. The ones in my area always have all sorts of neat unique items!

Hey Ed! And anyone else that wants to help! I am getting my DS3.5 a learning handheld system. I don't know whether to go with the Fisher Price iXL or the Leapter Explorer. Which is the better learning tool and fun too? TIA

DS, 4 received the iXL for this birthday in July and he loves it. It was great to take it out of the box and just hand it to him. As a matter of fact, here it is October and we still have yet to buy a game for it. He is fine with that too. He loves the touchscreen (he kept trying to use my touchscreen gadgets). We are not a video game family, he plays this toy maybe once every week or two weeks, but we have been pleased with it.

My daughters got the My meeba's for Christmas last year too. My 11 yr old (then 10) played the game and "won" hers. Well my, then, 8 and 5 yr olds wanted theirs out BUT they of course were not winning the game. My 11 yr old beat theirs out of the tubes for them too because they were now crying. :rotfl: I was at work when this happened. Dh thought it was nice of dd11 to get them out for them. :confused3 Oh well, they did like the little animals that came out.

Has anyone got the Paper Jamz Guitars I am wondering if they actually work and are worth it or not?
