christmas room/window decoration?

what do you use to hold up the lights and stockings? we want to decorate the window since it's christmas. thanks for your answers.

For the windows I would use suction cups with a hook on them. They come in all kind of sizes. I got mine at Wal Mart in the Christmas decorations.

I always have problems with the suction cups not wanting to stay. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
