Hello all you Magical Disney Brides!!!

Since our families are not close to where we live and because I'm a little wild for The Mouse we decided (or I decided and he just went with it) to do a Disney Wishes Wedding: Dec 7 2007 at WP/Citricos/Dessert Party in France.

Besides Disney, I LOVE Christmas so want to do a Christmas Party for a reception back in IL all my family is in IL and we live in NJ. Any ideas to make the reception not really the traditional wedding reception - more like a Christmas party :santa: with a Disney theme and then just maybe have our wedding video playing somewhere on the side.

Would love ideas...feeling kinda drained now and can't wait to get to FL for a revitalization!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks bunches
:smickey:

Some started a thread about ornaments as centerpieces. You could also have a Christmas tree in there. Another idea is to have Mickey and Minnie show up in Christmas apparrel. This sounds like it is going to be a fun party.

Yay another December bride. :cheer2:

Oh just thought of one other thing. I noticed that you are having your dessert party in the French pavillion. You could have a "Bouche de Noel"(sp?). It is the traditional christmas cake they have in France. It is made to look like a yule log with candy vines and mushrooms.

I always wanted to get married in Dec and have a Christmas themed wedding, but logistically it didn't work out. I would have had poinsettas as my flowers and on my cake. I also would have sprinkled that fake snow that usually goes on the tree on the tables. You could do a lot of stuff w/ holly and mistletoe. I also would have made my BMs were dresses that were red and green. Yes, they are happy I'm getting married in the summer

Good luck and have fun planning :)

Welcome to the Dis! And congrats on your upcoming wedding.

I'm unclear if you are asking for ideas for a holiday-themed reception in WDW or at home? Please clarify this.

If you're looking for ideas for a FTW event in WDW, then do a "search" here on the Dis because there have been quite a few couples over the years who have gotten married around the holidays. I'm sure you'll find their posts (and their photos) informative.

Again, congratulations!

That is such a beautiful suggestion.

Congrats! How exciting! I think I would just put a touch of holly in your bouquet. Just a a little nod to the Christmas time. I love the ornament idea. I wonder if Disney would let you buy them in a bulk setting and if you could pay someone to personalize them at the wedding. On side with your event and then the other for family/ friends. I also would use a touch of gold just to warm things up. Disney floral is so great that they will have plenty of ideas for you!!! Also check out some past Martha Stewart Weddings. I found some good ideas I was able to use from her magazines that I modified to be less expensive.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
You're lucky - what a great time of year!!! I would think for centerpieces either: poinsettias, or a wreath-type arrangement with candles in the middle, or one of those mini christmas trees, or a decorative bowl (or something) with red, green, and silver glass ball ornaments.....
Favors: personalized Disney ornaments...or any Disney ornaments!!!! Or anything else, but wrapped in Christmas wrap and bows!
Also not sure, but I think you're looking for ideas for your at-home reception? If so, how about a visit from Santa?
How many tables??? You could name the tables for each reindeer??
Just a few ideas....one thing is for sure: you've come to the right place!!!

I knew I could count on your wonderful ideas for Christmas stuff. To clarify I am looking for ideas for the reception my family is giving when we visit IL after our honeymoon.

The stuff ya'll have written is helpful both for my WDW reception and my home reception.

Thanks so much!!!
