Okay so who else on here buys their pet a christmas present?, My DH always says"shes just a dog"!, but my miniture shnauzer just loves christmas day and unwrapping her presents, once she knows her present is under the tree(how she knows i dont know!), she keeps nudging it with her nose.
So what do you buy your pet(or am i the only sad person on here?)

No definately not sad.

The kitties have a new Igloo Bed from Next and lot's of cat nip toy's under the tree. Its there Christmas too!!

We have had to buy presents for our cat, the in-laws dog and my DW's grandad's dog

We used to have a Samoyed who would tear open his packages--so much fun to watch. He'd take those little squeezie toys (the ones that squeak), and break them within 20 minutes. Our current dog (miniture doxie) is just too stupid, he doesn't have a clue.

We always have bought our dog's christmas presents. This year, however we are still looking around for something to buy or 2 puppy westies who are 4 months old and little terrors!

Oh yes, Oscar the cat gets Christmas gifts from us and from some family/friends. This is partly done to ease our guilt as we normally go skiing for Christmas, leaving Oscar in the capable hands of a friend. Those little furry mice are his favourite toy, although they never seem to last for more than a couple of days before he strips the fur off the plastic body (leaving two pink ears still attached!).

Regards

Rob

Courchevel here we come...

I have got my dog a towel with his name on it and a reindeer toy. The day the towel arrived in the post I never opened it in front of him in case he seen it and it spoiled the surprise ;)

I hope you hid it well Helen. ;)

I always buy my dog presents, a stocking, a toy with a ball on one end and a handle on the other and some chews etc this year.

Steph, we have two miniature dachshunds! The wire haired is a bit of a grumpy old man, but the long haired is totally mad! We bought him a whole bag of squeaky toys last year and DH says it tipped him over the edge, he managed to break them all within about one hour!
I always buy new squeakies at Christmas to join in the racket on Christmas day!

Oh Fiona, I can picture it! Dachshunds are the funniest little dogs. Mine is sitting beside me as I type this, begging for a walk. It's too darn cold though. Waiting for DS to get up and let him out. Here's a picture of him that I posted on the snow thread, you may have already seen it.

His name is Jasper and he was a rescue. I had a friend who was working at the local animal shelter and I told her if she ever got a miniture longhaired in to give me a call. A few weeks later, she called. His owners knew he'd been picked up, but they didn't want to have to pay the fine, so he came home with us. He was "free," but he had heartwarm so he ended up costing us at $300. I had to put down our old standard longhaired the year before, he was 15 and his back finally went. That's where I get my "name," he was Olaf vom Englisch Garten. I'd bought him in Germany. I know, way more info than you wanted, but I get talking about my babies and I can't shut up. ;)

Steph, cute puppy!! And son(?)
Our Bert is the image of Jasper and just as silly! We got him just after DH was recovering from cancer surgery and the two have been inseperable ever since. I m sure Bert knew Mike was unwell, he hardly ever left Mikes side and is still his lifelong companion. He would go to the bathroom with Mike if he was allowed to!
Bert is also mad about water and will swim anywhere. He loves the outdoor hosepipe and will be occupied for hours if we turn it on.
Our wire hair is Mac, we got him from a Scottish breeder, and we are sure that he mumbles and growls with a Scottish accent!!
He is my baby and always has to be as close to me as he can be. Infact he is sitting on my lap now, snoring!
Not that I am obsessed by my babies!:p
