Christmas Plans Really Coming Together!!

I called this morning and got all our dining ADR's made including the CP dinner package for our Dec. 21-26 stay. I basically got everything I wanted - 50's Prime Time, Liberty Tree Tavern, CP package at Nine Dragons and Christmas dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Now we just have to see if our waitlist request to move to a 2BR at AKV comes through. I'm so excited I was able to get everything done dining wise in one phone call.

That's great!! I made our Christmas week ADR's yesterday (we check in on the 19th). I got everything I wanted too. I'm so excited!!

I can think of no better way to spend the holidays! Although part of me is uber jealous. I want DVC so bad I can taste it, but am forced to let some things ride out. Even after we pay off a couple of debts and I'm done w/school only time will tell if it will be feasable. Airfare is a sacrifice as it is,and seems to be going in the wrong direction. And the only thing worse than cramming in a car for 2 days is the price to do it, LOL. Losing 4 days is also not good when you are limited w/school holidays. I'm hoping things will make a turnaround and Disney will not sacrifice taking care of their repeat offenders, um I mean guests LOL.

Wow! We are staying during the same time frame in a 2 BR at AKV eating at LTT, 9 Dragons CP and almost did WCC for 12-25, but instead opted for 'Ohana! When are you eating where?

On Tuesday - CP dining package - 9 Dragons for lunch 1:30 and 5:00 CP
On Wednesday - Liberty Tree Tavern 6:30
On Thursday - WCC 12:30

And I hesitate to put this (no flames please) - I also have a ressie at Boma for 5:30 just in case our 2BR AKV waitlist comes thru. If not, I'll cancel the Boma ressie. If it does come thru, I'll cancel the WCC ressie. We just wanted to make sure we were eating at the restaurant at which ever resort we're staying. We are really hoping our waitlist request comes thru as DW and DD28 love AKV and DS33 has never stayed there before.

I'm also looking forward to eating at the renovated 9 Dragons. I hope they don't change the menu too much though.

We're really excited about this trip.

We're excited too. It looks like we will be in the same parks on the same day!. I have never been during Xmas and am not sure which parks when to do.
Have you already gotten these ressies? I check in on the 21st also and isn't tomorrow is the 180 mark?
How do you like WCC? I thought it would be fun for DD11-she really likes PTD and isn't this kinda like it?

Yes, I've already gotten the ressies. I was able to make them because of the 180+10 rule. WCC isn't one of my favorite places to eat. It's a little too loud for me, so I always ask for us to have a table at the very back. But DD wanted us to eat there, so I went along with what she wanted.

THat's what had me confused -the +10 part. I thought it was +10 after your check-in day. No worries

Oh, well. I got in 1st thing this morning(no holding) and got what I hope are good ressies.


Tuesday 12/23 Rose & Crown @ 1pm

Wednesday 12/24 Plaza (lunch) @ 11:30 going for EMH that morning @ 7 am

Wednesday 12/24 WCC @ 5 pm We have never been there but I think DD might enjoy this.

Friday 12/26 Liberty Tree Tavern lunch @ 1 pm then
we're headed back to Texas-stopping in NO for a couple of days to show DD the French Quarter.

This was the first I'd heard of the +10 rule, but when I asked yesterday after making our CP ressie if I could make the other ressies and was told yes; I guessed that was what was involved.

Our big thing now is hoping that our AKV waitlist comes thru. I've about worn my PC out checking multiple times a day to see if it has occurred. We are really hoping it comes thru because DS33 doesn't go down with us often and he has never stayed at AKV before. I know he'll really like sitting out on the balcony watching the animals.

If you have never eaten dinner at the WCC on Christmas night, you will love it. They servr the traditional Christmas dinner and it still comes in the skillets and the atmosphere there is the best.

Got our ADRs for our Christmas trip as well, all within 5-10 minutes of what I wanted. I'm so excited my coworkers think I'm nuts (okay obsessed)!

They just have the regular menu on Christmas eve. I presume that you will be dining around 6. If so, you are in luck. At 6 they start the Christmas eve entertainment. Santa, lots of characters and usually a brass band and carollers will entertain you. You will not want to leave the lobby. If you can, grab a drink and go watch all the entertainment from the leather couchs and chairs beside the small fireplaces on the 4'th and 5'th floors . They are located at the front of the resort (above the front entrance). Wish I would be there

Christmas dinner at WCC is wonderful! Still a lot of fun too. We told our waitress that DS brought the rain with him when he flew in to join us. This is what they did to him:

This is our first Christmas away from home. I was one of those, "dd needs to have Christmas at home"moms. We are now past the Santa stage of life. last year actually, but last year was kinda sad with no Santa. I wanted to start making some fun memories and this looked like the ticket.

I am also bringing DM78 with us cause I don't want her to be alone for Christmas either. She is shy but I think she will enjoy the fun.

Now I need to get started on what to do Christmas morning -what kind of gifts to get.Any suggestions???

I actually bought a small tree to ship and I think I will have DD buy "ornaments" at Epcot and the other parks for decorations.

She got her first one 2 weeks ago when we were there. We were invited to the TestTrack GM VIP suite a little ixiedust:

They gave her a toy test track car. She said that she was going to tie a ribbon on it for an ornament.

We arrive December 21st and are staying on property. When you stay on property you can book at 180 days PLUS 10. That means you can book all your reservations in that first call and not have to call back every day.

Congrats on your ADR's if you are staying on property I'd call them back right now and book the rest of your ADR's (if you have them)
