my kids fell in love with these at a neighbors house, but she isn't around to get the recipe from tonight. I was thinking I'd make them and surprise the kids. does anybody have a recipe?

thank you!

with the hershey recipe, does anybody know if I could just use butter instead of the crisco? I don't have shortening, never use it, and would rather not run to the store if I can avoid it.

I always use margarine....so I'm sure butter will work just fine too.

thank you!

The easiest and best one I know of is 1 cup PB, 1 cup sugar, and 1 egg. Mix well with fork. spoon onto cooking pan and cook on 350 for about 7 minutes. then when cookies come out stick hershey kiss on top.

Pillsbury makes the dough in a tube . They even sell the Hershey's Kisses without wrappers. All you need to do is scoop up the dough, roll it into balls, bake according to the package directions and pop a kiss on top right after they come out of the oven.

It's the lazy cook's dream recipe!

We put the kiss on and THEN put them in the oven. No, the kiss does not lose it's shape and fresh out of the oven...... that slightly melty kiss is REALLY GOOD!

The recipe is on the back of the Hershey Kiss bag that I bought. (the holiday wrapped ones). My DH LOVES these!!

I just got some of this to try, hope it's good!!!

I made a chocolate version of this type of cookie for Thanksgiving. Your rolled the chocolate cookie dough in chocolate sprinkles before baking then pressed the kiss on the top when it came out. They were good.

You can use any peanut butter cookie recipe so just find one that uses Butter.

My DH likes his peanut butter cookies using butter but I don't have the recipe handy so just google one and use that.

Another way to do them, is using the Pillsbury cookie dough.

You slice it into 9 slices and then quarter each slice. Use mini muffin tins and put one quarter in each slot. Once they come out of the oven, put a kiss in each one. I put the kiss in upside down to keep them in better.

I do this receipe with Reese's Mini PB cups. I have also used the premade sugar cookies with different kisses (cherry cordial, candy cane, hugs etc).

Once you have the kiss in the dough, I put them in the fridge for about 10 minutes to set and then remove them from the muffin tin.

I make them every year for our dance school Christmas party and for our recital rehearsal. Everyone brings stuff to eat during rehearsal to keep from having to go out for lunch.

I agree with the PP about putting them back in the oven. Press the kiss into the top of the cookie then return to the oven for 1-2 minutes, just until the tip starts to turn darker. The kiss will firm back up but never to the original hardness. This allows for maximum enjoyment.:lovestruc

We put the kiss on the raw cookies and then bake them for the whole 10 minutes or so....

thanks again everyone! they turned out great!!!! I used the hershy recipe, and sub'd butter for the shortening and they were fine. it was funny, there was no timing on the recipe that I printed, so I baked them for 8 minutes, put the kiss in them, then put them back in the oven for 1 minute like a pp suggested. they were soooo good that way! I like that the kisses were soft, but not too soft.

my kids were very happy when they got home from school. and I was smart enough to squirrel some away to my cookie stash in the freezer so I have some for christmas eve/christmas day.

:)

hmmm....what cookie to make next?????
