Christmas Party

Not sure what you are looking for. For us, yes, it was worth the cost. We had a great time and virtually no lines for rides. The snow effect they had on Main Street was really neat to see. The parade was also pretty fun and seeing all the decorations characters in Christmas costume was fun. Not sure how many in your family, budget, expectations, but it is a unique offering that if you are going to be there around that time I say give it a try. For us it was worth it and we enjoyed it. DS really enjoyed staying on most rides without having to get off and running right up to most others with little to no wait. Longest wait I think was 5 mins at Space Mtn. that night.

We went December 16th. It was a sold out party. The crowds were outragous. The lines for rides were shorter then if it were daytime, but certainly not walk on. The parade and shows were packed. I didn't even see the snow on Main Street! Luckly, the Osbourne Festival of Lights made up for that. I'm going to say that I'm glad that we did it once and saw the special stuff that we could, but I am not doing it again for a long time if ever.

I too was there on December 16 and it was so oversold and crowded that it was pretty miserable. Even so, I still think it was worth it. The Christmas parade was wonderful (although because of the crowd and an inability to find ANY spot to remotely see the parade an hour before it started I had to keep my 2 year old up for the 10:30 p.m. parade which was not easy when you are just hanging out waiting for it to start). Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas was a great show. The Dance party with the Stepmother and Stepsisters was a highlight of our trip. My DD had a fantastic time dancing with them. We really wanted pictures with Mickey and Minnie in their Christmas outfits but were told by a CM that the line for each was 2 hours long so we skipped that. I would definitely do it again, but not on a Tuesday. The Sunday before we went (the 14th) they were still selling tickets at the park the afternoon of the party and we heard from others while we were there that it was wonderful that night. We heard that all the Tuesday nights were bad in 2008. I suspect it had to do with WDW telling the CMs to push the Tues night discount tickets because supposedly traditionally that night is a lower crowd night. I know that I called planning to buy tickets for the Sunday party, but the CM told me that the Tuesday night tickets were cheaper because it was expected to be less crowded during the week and really pushed me to buy those instead. BIG mistake! Can't blame the CM though- he didn't know how bad it would turn out to be.
