I did read a thread regarding there possibly being a party, similiar to Halloween from what I understand, in 2013.

Does anyone think this will actually happen?

When does Christmas time usually start at Disneyland?

We are trying to make a final decision for 2013...do Halloween again and the Halloween Party, which we both do love or go in November/December for the Christmas theme. My DH only wants to do Christmas if there will be a party. He likes having the park only to himself basically.

Last week, we did the Halloween Party of the 9th...ended up riding Thunder Railroad 4 times, to the point where we didn't even get off, just stayed on. That's how empty some of the rides were. Loved that at 5pm, Space Mountain had a 50 minute wait. Once the party started, had a 10 minute wait.

Sorry, got off topic.

For those who are more experienced with Disneyland, what are your thoughts regarding the rumors to the parties? Think it will happen next year or it's just something still be thought about?

Thanks!

I think there will be a party. Most people do. I'm not sure exactly how it will ultimately be packaged up and what will be included (we only know what is rumored so far, but it would probably be the holiday parade, holiday fireworks, snow on Main Street and Candlelight Processional). I don't think it will be uncrowded at all - this year's Halloween parties have been busier than ever (even if the lines for rides were short), and I think the Christmas party will be the same.

The holiday season at DLR is officially beginning on 11/12 this year. Next year, it could begin on Friday, 11/8, Monday, 11/11 or Friday, 11/15. It's hard to say - it used to begin on Friday, but this year and last year have Monday start dates.

The rumored party would start at the end of November and then stop before the week of Christmas, at which time the holiday parade and holiday fireworks would be available to the general public.

As a season in general, the holiday season at DLR is 100 times more detailed and extensive than Halloween Time is. Toontown, New Orleans Square, A Bug's Land, Cars Land and Buena Vista Street will all have special themed decorations. So if you are a fan of the holidays, it's worth it to check it out!

I have already booked my annual Disneyland trip. We did decide to do Christmas 2013. To enjoy my normal 6 days in the park I had to buy a 4 day hopper and a 2 day hopper bringing my cost up over $450. We have talked about this change and that we would now need to buy a ticket to go to the party if we wanted to see the things that we were going for. We made the decision that yes, we would spend the extra money to go one time. So, that extra $450 is now going to really go to waste, since the other 5 days, we will have to leave the park early. It's shame, but I am still looking forward to my trip.:cheer2:

Thank you for the responses! I think we will try Christmas time, would be great to see all the differences between Halloween & Christmas at the parks.
