Hi everyone,

We are thinking of going to DLP during the Christmas holidays. The thing is that we have never been there during winter and we live in Cyprus where the weather is hotter than average European countries. Based on your experience are the rides usually open even if its very cold or has heavy rain? What about snow? Doe it worth it?

We do want to experience the whole Christmas magic in dlp but we are thinking about what if we go and the rides are closed and there's snow and we are not able to enjoy it and we end up spending most of our time in the hotel?

Do you think is better if we go in early April? The weather is much better then but we will not get to experience the Christmas magic. Don't know what to do.

Thank you for your help.

They are very well prepared for winter weather so wouldn't worry to much about ride closures. You can already see closures upto december on the website.

We don't always get so much snow, last year we had none (maybe 1 or 2 days), the year before we've had a beautiful carpet outside for 2 whole months.
Most rides are covered in one way or another and protected for every weather.
In november chances for snow are smaller and temperatures are slightly higher, the real actual cold winter only starts from dec-february/march, or at least that's how it's been previous years.

Christmas season is truly magical and gorgeous, and the cold really does add to the charm taking coffee/hot chocolate breaks in the arcades or cable car bake shop. I wouldn't let the cold put you off, the beauty and vibe of the season really is worth it.

Thank you Sleeping beauty for your help. The way you describe the Christmas season, sounds trully magical. Thanks for the tips.

I'm lucky enough to be going to DLP twice this year, we were there at the beginning of April and will be back in December, just before the UK/French schools break up.

Christmas season is my favourite time of year at DLP, but then I'm used to, and don't mind, cold wet weather ;). The parks are absolutely stunningly beautiful, and I love the parks in the dark, all lit up.

However, Swing into Spring festival is really pretty too, the main park and the Village are decorated for that, there are extra parades and shows, and we had glorious sunny weather with not a cloud in the sky. The parks are open later in April compared to November/December.

DLP is built for Northern European weather, so only in major storms/blizzards are rides/parades stopped for weather.
