We are having trouble deciding which time to go, which would you choose, Christmas or Halloween?

I voted Halloween, but that's only 'cos I've never been at Halloween and would love to (but can't due to work restrictions). I have been at Christmas and it's lovely - the decs are so beautiful and in the 3 weeks leading up to Christmas it's usually fairly quiet (waiting for the rush!!). We did find C'mas day itself a little disappointing as nothing extra happens, some places outside Disney are closed (restaurants etc) and it's soooooo busy (they usually close MK before lunch as it reaches full capacity). Have fun whenever you go.

I voted for Halloween, the only reason why I voted this way is b/c we went for X-Mas (LOVED IT!),but have never been for Halloween. Which ever you pick I am sure you will have a great time!

I would probably choose Christmas. There are more special offerings during that time and it is a little cooler in the parks.

Halloween, since it's my favorite holiday, and I've already been at Christmas

The poll is currently tied 50-50. Anyway you can squeeze in two trips - one at Halloween and one at Christmas? :teeth:

I think it depends on your family. Do you enjoy one over the other?

This year my family decided to go during Christmas - we are HUGE Christmas fans and felt that it was a special time to bring our entire family - there's 9 of us going - both grandparents and my bil. We're going the first week of December so the decorations will be up, but the crowds will be down.

Maybe next year we'll go during Halloween because my girls love to dress up in princess costumes.

Price it out to see which one is worth it.

Are you talking the specific days, or just the time of year? Also do you kids? How old are they. If they are young and still dress up, I would go for halloween. That being said, I LOVED the Osborne family lights at MGM during x-mas

We've done both and love both but I chose Christmas b/c the temps are cooler and all of WDW is themed so beautifully you could spend a whole day touring the different resort decorations. You end up be immersed in Christmas and the lines are practically non-existent!

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I DO want to see The World at Christmas just once, though, but I really don't enjoy Christmas - my grandfather died on Christmas Eve 1998, so it holds some unhappy memories. We were very close (I grew up with my grandparents - he was the only "dad" I ever had).

Although I am planning on going to MNSSHP this fall, I still chose Christmas. I am sure that even after I get back from MNSSHP, I will still think Christmas is better. Unbeleivable, decorations, more theming, characters in x-mas clothes, absolutely breathtaking.

Hard question. We love both and I really wish they were about 6 months apart and you could do both each year within reasonable time periods.

I think the one thing at Disney we enjoy the most is the Food and Wine Festival, period. We also like MNSSHP better than MVMCP BUT on the other hand.....

The Candlelight Processional is beautiful, the Osbourne Lights are really awesome to see, and the decorations all over Disney World are really stunning. Nothing gets you in the Christmas mood better than an early December vacation at Disney.

So I didn't vote because we like them both. In the last 3 years we've done both twice. This year we're going in October, so that will put Halloween one up, but next year I plan on going more towards Christmas. Plan both, first do one, then the other. Good luck!!!

We've already been there for for a week during HALLOWEEN. We did the MNSSHP on Hallowween night. It was a lot of fun. But besides that, there's really nothing "extra special" about Halloween going on during that week.

We are going (all 16 of us) for the first time during the week of Christmas this year. From what I've been hearing on the boards, there's a lot of events going on as well as the awsome decorations. I can't wait. I can't wait, I'm soooooooo excited!!!

Btw, whatever you decide, especially Christmas, book NOW!!!!!! :)

Tough choice - I lean slightly towards Xmas - as long as the trip is not too close the the holiday itself because there is just so much going on, and it's such a festive place to be. You really get immersed into the whole holiday season. Other than MNSSHP, there is really nothing special for halloween itself. That said, there are other things going on that are fun like the F&W fest, and the weather is better if you want pool time and don't want to chance having to wear coats and gloves while in the parks at night.

Wow! I am surprised it's so close. Assuming you don't have to go that crazy  week between Christmas and New Year's, I would choose Christmas all the way! :santa:

I think that WDW is almost an entirely different place at Christmastime. Decorations are everywhere, there are special parades, the MVMCP, the CP, etc. I also like the cooler weather. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood, it was awesome!

I have done both and I liked Christmas better.

I am a huge Halloween fan but I put more decorations on my front porch than Mk has in total and that really disappoints me.

I voted for Halloween because my favorite season is Fall! We hope to be there for Halloween next year! :cool1:
