Another idea that I have.. I get points with each dollar I spend on my bank card if I use it as a credit card.. Dont know if this is something you have or not.. but I have collected $125 in giftcards to American Eagle and a $25 giftcard to Bath & Bodyworks (will use on Black Friday with a coupon I have to get some great deals)..

I agree with focusing on your own children.. everyone else will understand.. if you feel you must do something, then go to the dollar store and for $1 buy a container and make them some cookies or brownies.. but thats not even needed..

If you are able to swing it, Black Friday is where you get some of the best deals.. that and Cyber Monday..

If you have toddlers/young children, check FreeCycle and Craigslist. My daughter wanted Littlest Pet Shop animals for Christmas. I figured I'd just ask on FreeCycle before I spend money and a lovely family gave us her daughter's entire collection. They were so happy to pass a loved collection onto another child that would love it. It saved me a ton and keeps plastic out of landfills. LOL.

Now, I need to go through my daughter's toybox and pass her outgrown toys along!

In light of the economy and such I (as many of you, I'm sure) am looking for deep deep discounts on items that can be used for C'mas gifts. Photo gifts, toys, etc... I'm a single mom and really need to do C'mas this year as cheaply as possible thanks to a costly divorce! Anyone have anything???
