How about a "Movie Night At Home" kit. We got one once and it was a lot of fun.

Choose a large bowl or a gift basket. Pop some popcorn as "filler" and fill the basket with snacks for a movie night (movie theater size boxes of candy, microwave popcorn, soft drinks) and a gift card for a local movie-rental place. (Instead of a gift card you could put a DVD in, if you knew a specific movie they wanted.)

In the US, the big boxes of candy are available inexpensively at the Dollar Store and you get find some good sales on DVDs on "Black Friday" (the day after Thanksgiving). I hopefully you have some similar options in the UK. :)

Good luck with your move.

My family decided to make the gifts for the grown ups this year and only buy toys for the kids. One of things we are doing is making Cristmas ornaments. I have bought several plain off white tableclothes and some fabric paint, ( 2 shades of brown, 2shades of green, red, white, black) I am taking my daughter 6 and niece and rolling brown paint on their foot to form the riendeer face then using a different brown on thier hands to form antlers for the riendeer, use their finger prints for the nose and eyes. I am using the green for one childs hand prints to form a wreath and the younger childs hand prints a different shade of green over top of the first ones to form a christmas tree and a wreath. The red finger prints can be the holly berries or tree lights or ornaments etc. I am doing some table runners to. Found off white ones at my local dollar store. I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with this year. The kids are excited to be making the craft. Everyone gets a keepsake. One of the other things I am making someone is a Minnie wreath. Went to my local dollar store found one medium size wreath took 2 smaller ones for the ears. Got some floral wire at Walmart to attach the ears. Got a big red christmas bow from the dollar store put it in the middle of the ears and you have a Minnie wreath. Total cost $4.00 each. plus tax. Hope these idea's help you!! Good Luck. This year will be Christmas on a dime so to speak. But I am having more fun this year less pressure in what to buy and avoid the crowds not that I think this year will be much of a problem anywhere.

Someone posted the Disney Pixar Monopoly at $7.49 on amazon, if you have a family to buy for, why not get them this as a family game night? If you want to spend a bit more you could wrap it with some candy tec. for a family game night. I have aDH and two DS's and we'd love that as a gift. If you have a few households to buy for why not but them all family gifts?

Sorry Natalie, just saw you're in the UK, me too, and you can't get the monopoly at that price from Amazoon shipped here. It's £12.29 in Argos if you can find it near you, they're not doing home delivery on it, or it's about £13 plus shipping from Amazon, but they've got some good games around £10-£15 with their super saver free shipping so you might get a good deal. I think if you're buying for families it's a good gift, we always love getting games we can all play together! Poundstretcher also have some nice Disney stuff for very little money, and the poundland stores and other similar shops are great for Disney stuff just now, painting sets, diaries etc.

Also, try money saving expert dot com forums, especially money saving old style, they are great for cheap or free christmas gift ideas, especially for recipes for homemade "cookie in a jar" gifts.
