The DH and I are thinking of spending the 2007 Christmas and New Years holiday at VWL. I know the parks are jammed full during that time of year, but thanks to DVC, are trips are no longer centered around hussling as hard as possibe to get everything in---we'd just like to have a peaceful holiday at the most magical place on earth, and we love the Villas and see being there as a huge part of the vacation. We truly do feel like we're home when we get there.

So, all that said, has any of my fellow Dissers done this and if so, could/would you share your experience?

Thanks!

We just did this (although we left before NYE) and it was similar to what you say and it was wonderfull. The best thing was there were 2 or 3 Fantasmics each night, Illuminations had an extra XMAS ending that was unbelievable every night and there were 2 Spectromagics, 2 day parades and a Holiday Wishes (but we like the original better) and the Osborne Lights played to music which was great. 2 nights we did 6:30 Fantasmic and then walked to EPCOT for 9:30 Illuminations and then walked to BW for a bus to MK until midnight (every night it was open until midnight). So you can spend a lot of time in the parks (esp at night) and care less how many people there are and may have the best time ever. We did MK at 7AM Wed XMAS week and did 7 main attractions by 9:30-went to VWL and slept/swam. Oh yea the VWL pool was 87 degrees so there is another thing to do in the middle of winter. We did have AP by the way making some of this more logical/easy. Dont forget the snow coming down on Main St as MK closes-it was hard to leave.

We are doing exactly what you are doing! At the same resort! For the same reasons!

We had to reschedule a cruise from Dec 06 to Dec 07. The cruise was not available until Dec 16, which would get us off the ship on the 23rd. We decided (after reading these boards, thanks Granny and others :thumbsup2 ) just spend 4 days after the cruise at VWL.

We always go either of the first 2 weeks of Dec, but this just seemed like something new and something fun. It really helped that Christmas did not fall on a Fri or Sat night. Man, those points are out of this world!:scared1:

We will probably visit the parks just 1 of the 4 days. This vacation is all about the Lodge! We started out planning on staying in a studio (because of the high points), but we decided to go ahead and do our 1 BR. We figured it would be so much nicer in a 1 BR! :santa:
