Christmas/New year sales?

Hi all-we are travelling out on the 27th Dec and as the missus has informed me that the credit card will be taking a hammering in the shops i thought id ask if they have sales for new years day as we have here.
Hopefully someone can confirm they do and i might save a $ or two.

We went shopping last christmas on the day after christmas day to the Florida Mall, get there early as its busy, and there were lots of sales, especially The disney store.
