Hi everyone,

My friend and I are planning to visit the European Christmas markets this year:santa: . We'd be flying out on a Friday and returning Sunday night (ready for work Monday:guilty: )

I just wondered if anyone had any advise with regards to which markets would be the best to visit? We've heard Cologne or Frankfurt are good but would appreciate any extra information.

Thanx

I've been to Cologne which was very nice as they have more than one market in different parts of the city.

I've also been to Brussels which also had a good market and was very easy to get to on Eurostar.

Where ever you choose have fun and go easy on the Gluhwein!

My 11 year old DD is going with her school to Aachen in Germany, they leave at 9.30pm on the Thursday and return 10.30pm on the Friday, wonder if she'll get any sleep? :rotfl2:

I went to the one in Dortmund quite a while ago and was amazed how big it was. I was a young soldier at the time and actually took time out from the beer halls to see it so it must have looked good!:thumbsup2

I have been to the Frankfurt ones a couple of times. We had a wonderful time, but it did get extremely busy with locals in the evening. It was so Christmassy though and the stalls sell some wonderful things:yay:
