Christmas Lights...

Does anybody know if the Christmas lights are up the week of Thanksgiving? We really want to see them but I think we are going to go back that week due to some family happenings in Bradenton at the same time.

They usually are fully up by the day after Thanksgiving.

They are definately up by Thanksgiving day and I believe they were up just prior- Maybe the day before ? this year.

In 2000, they were up the day after Thanksgiving. It was strange, we left MK on Thanksgiving night with no Christmas decorations up and returned the next morning and the entire kingdom was decorated for Christmas. It was so beautiful. That is a great time to go!

Animal Kingdom was decorated the day before thanksgiving this past year. MK & MGM premiered on thanksgiving and the day after respectively. I wasn't at MK on Thanksgiving, but that's what it said on the news

Also note that the characters start wearing their holiday outfits the day after Thanksgiving also. We'll be there for a week before Thanksgiving and then 4 days after. We plan to re-visit each park on the 4 days after to see them fully decked out for XMAS!

I know this thread is about decorations in WDW but when I was in Disneyland in CA in November of 2003, I was at the park one day, regular decorations, etc. The next day, November 3rd!!!, the entire park (actually both parks) were decked out for the Holidays.

Up until 2002, they had an AP preview of the Osborne Lights the weekend before. When they brought the lights back in 2004, no preview. Any talk of giving the AP preview again?
