Just dug into my shiny new gold boxes of Nikon equipment (D50 and a whole raft of lenses and flash) and have to say that, based upon a few minutes of just playing around with the camera and three of the four lenses, I'm *not* disappointed in any of my choices. They're all keepers and, as I'd hoped, I believe the D50 is all the camera I will need for a long time to come.

Congrats! You will love it.

I already am! Big step up from the Finepix S5200, although at 1/10 the cost, it has served me extremely well over the past year.

FWIW, too, I think the 18-135mm zoom is going to spend a LOT of time on the D50. The 70-300VR and 10-20 Sigma will certainly be useful tools, but the 18-135 should be a pretty decent walkaround. It seems tack sharp, based on a few test shots around the house.

Way to go Ed. I'll send you back an email in the next few days. Work has been very busy and I'm having trouble with my main computer downstairs. The network card is acting up and I'm not sure why, so I don't get to my email as much.

I like the intial reviews of the 18-135mm. I'm definately upgrading the reach on my 18-70 this year. I'm going to try and save for the 18-200 and hope for the best, but if not the 18-135 will be it. 10 months till the next Disney trip so I still have some time. That change bucket is growing by the day.

Looking forward to seeing some new pictures from you.

Have fun!
