Christmas/Holiday 2011 on the Wonder: 8 night Mexican Riviera 12/18/2011

Here is the concierge response to the Christmas/holiday decorations for our room:

Hello Katherine,

It would be a pleasure to assist with your questions.

There will be amenities for the Christmas season. These should show up in the next week or two, once we arrive closer to Halloween.
The options are still being finalized with the distributors.

Once this happens they can be ordered online or directly thru us. Just let us know which item numbers you would prefer.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know.

Have a Magical Day

I already ordered and received my FE. It is absolutely darling!

I have begun the process of figuring out what I am doing for gifts...not bad for a newbie if I do say so myself.:)

Welcome! :wizard:

What a neat way to spend your birthday- especially if it's a Christmas birthday! My DH's youngest sister is Christmas Eve so I understand that can be a hard birthday to feel really special. Have you all cruised before?

Christine

YES! Christmas birthday's can be tricky! ....thou it was quite an event when #5 came early Xmas morning!! (2002) We are excited. If you see some celebrating and singing at Christmas dinner, you'll know it's us!! lol :rotfl:
Yes, we have cruised on DCL before, but never the Mexican Riviera. This should be fun!! Thank you for the welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you guys!

To organize the Fish Extenders, the document with all our info will be on a separate site. To access the information (names, cabin numbers, etc) you will need the link. I'm going to send the link to the Google document via email. It will be secure and you will need the link to access. That way you can bookmark it on your computer and print easily. I have email addresses for SanDeeKath and Double Trouble, but that's it. If you want to join our FE exchange (everyone is welcome!), please send me a PM with your email address. If you already signed up, I'll send you a PM with any information I might still need.

Questions? Let me know! Thanks Brooklyn for setting up the document for us.:goodvibes

Hi there and welcome! My DD's birthday is the 29th of December so she too will be celebrating a birthday on the ship. I figure it's close enough anyway. ;)

Tinkerbelll, would you be willing to email me a pix of your FE? I am at a loss as to the design I should ask for. Also, I am trying to decide if I want the kids to be able to pick the design too! LOL.

Google doc with a private link sounds awesome! Let us know when you are ready and I will go enter our info.

chernabogfamily, thanks for the birthday info. Giving a card every day with different Disney characters sounds fantastic and very creative. I may just try that for my DD, who is turning 7.

OK, off to go pirate costume shopping. ;) I figured if I get the costumes early enough, we can use them for Halloween too!

Katherine - I don't see a way to add an attachment on either the PM or private e-mail....but, here's the link to the vendor I used:

I went with a four pocket FE...red background fabric, yellow trim, black thread for the names. The very top has a lovely sparkly silver Disney cruise ship and our family name. Top pocket: Mom & Dad with a Minnie and Mickey silhouette with gold bow in Minnie's hair and gold bow tie on Mickey. Next pocket: oldest son's name, Mickey silhouette and sparkly green thread bow tie followed by daughter's Minnie silhouette with sparkly pink thread for the bow in her hair, and finally youngest son's name with a Mickey silhouette and a sparkly red thread bow tie.

Adorable. I never could have sewn anything even close to how cute this turned out, and she was really helpful via e-mail.

I figured out how to edit my picture to block out our names, so I can post the pic to our thread, but I don't see an attachment link. I may not have posted enough yet. Not sure.

Tried again, no luck. Does anyone know how many posts I need before I have permission to post a picture?

In order to post a picture, you need to first upload it to a site like photobucket. Then from there you click on the IMG code under the picture. That's what you paste here.

Has anyone done the Palo Brunch before?

We did our registration and grabbed a brunch slot for this cruise (5th cruise and we're finally getting around to it). We enjoy eating in the dining rooms for dinner with the kids, but thought either a brunch or tea might be nice this time around.

Thoughts on either?

Thanks! pirate:

We too are doing the brunch at Paulo! I think it's the second sea day? I heard it was fantastic and brunch is my fave meal so I am sure it will be great. :)

Those are adorable FEs! I think I am going to order one too. No way could I make something like this at home! I have never see this site before. I was looking at the eBay ones but these are cute too...

We've done the Palo brunch a couple times. Like you we generally prefer to eat in the dining rooms with the kids! We had Palo dinner last time and it was really great. My DH is not a huge fan though because he eats at really high end places all the time when he travels for work. He enjoys the servers and we like to reconnect with the kids at dinner after the clubs all day. So this cruise I booked brunch for us, on Christmas Day! I am not sure if that is a good choice or not. But I thought it might be unique and fun. Brunch is deeeelliiciouuuus! Well worth your time.

The only thing I didn't like about Brunch last time was that we had to leave the Captain's Chat early to make our brunch time. We had never been to the Captain's Chat and we really enjoyed that. Also, then we were late to the Castaway Club reception (after our brunch) as well. It was our first time as Gold CC. So I would like to avoid brunch on that day!! I will definitely be looking at Navigators as soon as the MR cruises are up and running, and make sure I didn't book our brunch the same day as these events.

This has been done on other cruises I have been on and thought it would be perfect for the Christmas cruise. I am happy to organize this.

Basically works like a Secret Santa....you will fill out a questionare for each person who wants to participate. I will pair you up with someone and share their info with you. You will then buy 4-5 gifts totaling about $25-$30. You will deliver them random times throughout the cruise. We can then plan a "reveal" breakfast or you can just deliver the last gift and left your Secret Mickey know who you are. This is different then the FE. It can be a lot of fun for those that participate. This will be for kids and adults. We can make the cute off the last week of Nov to give everyone time to get gifts for their Secret Mickey.

Send me some feedback and let me know if you are interested. I will add a column on the spreadsheet and you can let me know if you are interested in participating.

Brooklyn, my DD 14 and I would both be interested in this. She's pretty crafty and thinks it would be fun! I have never done this before so I'm game to try something new. :thumbsup2

Brooklyn- Sounds like fun, and I will participate with my daughter (14) and my young (7) son. I think the three of us will really enjoy it!

Oooh....we are going to have some good times on this trip!
