I am curious - do they totally revamp the HM for the Christmas season? If we go in December, we will not be able to see the HM as the way it is year round? :confused3

are you talking about DL or WDW? because I thought it was just DW that changed for the holidays.

Just DL . Nothing really for WDW HM so you will be fine. I think next year we might go to DL just to see the overlay of NBC if they have it again.

We went to DLR twice during the NBC layover, and it it GREAT!!!!! They do such a wonderful, professional job, that anyone would enjoy it.... And when we went, I had not seen NBC, so I was expecting to be dissapointed. But it went WELL beyond anything I had imagined.
Just a side note, I grew up in So Cal, so I grew up going to DL. When I went to WDW as an adult, I was, and still largely am, dissapointed in the MK. DL is MUCH, MUCH better than MK... and the HM in DL is one of the attractions that is not as good at MK. So, even though I enjoy the MK, and I adore Epcot, DS and AK, going to DL is like going home, and I do enjoy it SO much more than MK. I tend to get lost at MK... things are put in different places than at DL, and I feel a little out of sync... like I am somewhere, but not quite in the right place!
Anyway.... if you do get the chance to see the NBC layover at DLR... do it! It is super!!! ;)

I've heard the soundtrack for Haunted Mansion holiday at DL on DIS Radio a couple of times in the past week. It sounds so cool! I would love to see it in person!

I am in the "don't knock it until you see it" camp. We love the holiday overlay at HM in DL. It's very fun!

That is why I personally am not interested. :( I just did not like it. Maybe I would have to see it to get it.

I don't know the themeing, but I thought I read somewhere that it is Nightmare Before Christmas, which I am not a fan of (sorry NBC fans).

I'm a lot like you....thought it was so weird the first time I went to WDW, walked out of Peter Pan and saw IASW right across the street!

Last year I was at DL for Thanksgiving and had a chance to experience the holiday version of IASW there. It's great! Wish they did it at WDW as well.

It's a wildy popular ride during the halloween/christmas season. I went to see it for the first time ever this year. I LOVED it. It made me so giggly and happy. It's definitely worth a trip to DL to see.

We just returned and HM is the same as always. They don't add anything for the season.

My DH has never seen the HM at DL without the NBC overlay! :goodvibes We always seem to go in October, November or December when the overlay is up. The one time we went in March, the HM was closed.

Anyway, when DH and I make our very first trip to WDW in January, riding the HM at the MK is high on our list of attractions to ride (just so DH can see what the HM is normally like). He's really looking forward to it, and so am I! :thumbsup2

Don't get me wrong, we love the NBC overlay, but sometimes we just want to see some good old fashion ghosts too. :rotfl:
