My daughter just added to her list last night and an instant camera was added! My walmart has the fujifilm instanx mini8 on sale for 49.00. I was going to purchase it there but they didn't have a blue one so I had to order from amazon. Luckily I had amazon points to use and actually got it cheaper than walmarts price 39.99! I wanted to thank tarheel for the links for the film! That is on my list also. I also found some cute kits that come with the camera case. Might as well get the whole kit!! LOL

DD is no longer a teen but I've always gotten great ideas from these threads for her. She has been trying to talk me into doing an ALL Disney mini tree in the family room in addition to the regular tree in the front room. She sent me a photo of a Mickey/Minnie light up star tree topper. Since Disney Store is doing 25% off Christmas stuff I got that and some glass Mickey ornaments. Will add some lights and a tree skirt and make this one of her gifts as she will have her own place this time next year.

I have added several of these ideas to my idea list. DD has an October birthday, and I used every last idea I had for that!

We were in Target today and my dd14 said she wants the "Cards Against Humanity." I googled it when I got home. It looks rather inappropriate. Is anyone familiar with this game? It says 17+ for the age so I'm guessing it doesn't just look inappropriate, it is.

So, I sometimes look for ways I can let DD(14) feel "really grown up" in a controlled environment. After she kept begging for this game, I gave in, but I censored the cards. I left many that are in bad taste, but I removed anything too inappropriate. She can have those back when she is older. She and her friends hoot and holler while playing this together, even after I censored the cards.

We have done Birchbox, Glossbox, Wantables, and Ipsy. We have canx all but Ipsy. My teen girl likes getting her Ipsy every month. Birchbox sends high end samples and you build points to buy the full-size products on their website. I have bought some full-size products from my Birchbox subscription. They send make-up (mostly eyeshadow or lipstick), skin products, and perfumes. I think Birchbox is for women where Ipsy is for teens.

Questions on Ipsy- do the boxes come fairly unmarked? I don't know if she's heard of Ipsy, but if I get a couple boxes before Christmas, will it be obvious from the outside that it is makeup?

Do you pay for it all at once for a year and then it's over unless you renew, or do they bill you monthly and you have to contact them to get it cancelled when a year is up?

I don't know what the boxes look like as I was sending them to my DD away at college. As far as billing, I paid month to month. My DD really enjoyed it for about 6 months and then let me know that they were starting to be repetitive so we cancelled it.

DD's ipsy comes in a bright fuschia shiny envelope. I don't think it has ipsy plastered all over it, but it is not subtle.

We receive it as a gift, so I don't know about payments, but I will say if you get the subscription, your daughter won't know what it is, except that it's in a bright bubble envelope. And you can toss the envelopes and wrap the interior container if you save a few to give her at once (they come in all different designs of same-size makeup bags each month and all the stuff usually is zipped and fits in the bag)...

She had her blood analyzing for acid/gastro issues by a naturalist who has her on supplements for issues uncovered in her blood. One forcing her to be gluten free. I used to work with a very naturalist, hippy kind of guy (although he wasn't gluten free). So these recommendations are based on things he used to go on and on about, if none fit your daughter please ignore!

Yogurt Maker
Smoothie blender or juicer (he was also into "cleanses" and somehow smoothies/juices played into that)
Himalayan Salt Lamp (something about it helping the air)

(Disclaimer: I'm not endorsing any of this, I personally would never buy things like salt lamps or do cleanses because I don't buy into that kind of stuff. But to each his own, I'm just trying to help the poster out!)

Also, just my own ideas but how about:

Gluten free makeup/skincare items (who knew?)
Bread maker - one that has a "gluten free" setting, apparently they exist. There are also just traditional loaf pans that are made specially for gluten free breads, apparently they have the "extra support" that gluten free breads require.

Thank you for such a fantastic list! I never knew a gf bread maker existed. Will definitely look into that as that is her biggest complaint the yucky taste of GF bread! The salt lamp I actually bought off amazon a few weeks ago thinking very cool novelty gift. Even if the salts don'nt do what they say, cute nightlight! Well we were at a store that had one and she whispered who falls for that? UGH. So silently I mailed my amazon package back. LOL! Thanks for the well thought out post. Love the ideas!

How much are you looking to spend? KitchenAid has 5 speed handmixers and immersion blenders in pretty colors for about $39.99. Target will usually have a sale aronund this time of year.
