Our family of 5 (3 teens, mom/dad) will be in WDW for Christmas week. This is pretty much our gift to each other this year, but I want to make Christmas at WDW memorable. Does anyone have any ideas of what we could have sent/delivered so Christmas morn is "like Home"? My kids are 12,16,and 16............so they're not so little anymore, but I want to make sure we still have a merry holiday. We're celebrating with our extended family before we leave, so the grandmoms, aunts, etc...will certainly have given them their gifts. But what about mom and dad? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated (we are paying for all their purchases while in WDW,too)......just so we don't sound like Scrooges!!!

Some people on these boards do a tree switching thing at holiday time so you have a tree in your room. That would feel like home for the holidays.
Maybe disney $$ for the kids. How about surprise tickets to cirque. That
is one awesome show. Christmas is a wonderful time to visit the mouse. The decorations are really wonderful. The shows and christmas parade at the MK are the best disney has to offer. My most memorable trips are christmas in disney.
Have fun!!

Bring your own Christmas lights to put on your balcony- kids love it.... and so do all the other WDW visitors! If you're staying on site, some resorts put stockings on the doors of the rooms for the kids... but to make sure they have a stocking- you can always bring yours and stuff them with fun small gifts... earrings, ipod (expensive, but COOL and small!), cd's, sunglasses, lip balm, sunscreen, a Mickey beanie etc. (just make sure you either mail those things to the resort (again, if you're styaing on site) or better yet, put them in your carry on bag on the plane. Give the kids $25.00 a piece (or 15 or 10) and send them out into the world on Christmas Eve, in search of the best gifts they can find for each other, make sure you bring some wrapping paper and tape so they can can wrap them too. My kids would have a blast doing that! Disney Direct has some big beach towels still available for 9.99- they're very cute (mickey head icon or mickey silouette) and can be personalized for each kid. They'd be great to bring down to the pool. I've ordered 3 of these for our girls trip. They are very good quality and the names turn out GREAT!

My oldest is working at disney this year and his internship will not end until Jan 3. so this will be our first christmas morning without one of our boys, i don't think i'm going to handle that real well. That being said we will be visiting Dec 9 to the 15th.

I want to have a christmas morning with all my boys so I am planning on buying a small table top tree with lites that i am going to ship down to ourselves. We are getting the boys ipods and i'll pick up one or two small gifts for under the tree - the rest of their presents will be opened christmas morn at home and we'll ship the oldest his so that they'll be at his condo christmas day. When we leave I plan on giving him and his roommates the tree for their condo.

I love the idea of sending them off to buy each other a gift at disney world and think i will give that a try.

Not sure if my kids would want every gift they receive to be disney associated. Instead of buying everything for them why don't you give them each money as one of their gifts - that way they can choose to spend it on something special for themselves - like this is what you have to spend - when its gone its gone.

My DH & I will most likely just bring an extra carry on bag on the plane with the expensive gift in it and then stuff anything else we buy in our luggage somewhere.

Have a great Holiday

You mentioned making Christmas morning special...Why not call down to your resort and talk to room service about delivering a Christmas morning breakfast to your room -- anything that would remind you of Christmas at home -- hot cocoa, perhaps?

Where are you staying?

Oh my gosh!! Everyone has such great ideas. My wheels are turning and I will definitely use some of them; I'll let you know what I decide. We're staying at AS Sports in two rooms so I'll definitely be able to hide my secret stash of Christmas morning surprises. I'll call AS Sports and ask what they offer. Thanks so very much again for all you fantastic ideas!!

Let us know what you decide to do! I really want to know- it's llike Christmas for me!!!! ;)

We do not go till 2006 - but under our tree this year will be tickets to Disney Quest.
I bought them at a discount from.... http://www.ticketmania.com/discounttickets.shtml

We always told out kids no to DQ - My DH does not want them in a game room all day - if we can do something else at a Park.
But they are now teens and tweens - so I thought we could spend at least 3 hours one day in a game room.

So under our tree will be DQ tickets to be used in June 2006.

If you allow your kids to go to DQ - and they do not know they can - you could prebuy the tickets at a discount and give them to the kids (if they are old enough to keep track of their own ticket) at WDW.

It would be a fun gift and nothing to pack in a suitcase.
Just a thought :)
