My family and I are taking the 12/18 cruise as the Christmas gifts to each other. However, I don't think that my niece and newphew will understand if Aunt Carol does not provide a gift!

My thought was that they would probably see stuff on the boat they would want and I could just buy it there. SO... do 7 and 8 years see things on the boat that they want? Would my idea work?

I am trying to avoid taking gifts. I already have a luggage issue. I am packing Xmas decorations for the OKW villa my mother and I are staying at after the crusie which will probably take one suitcase. (Although we may be shipping this.)

THANKS

They have some markers and coloring sets onboard that would not take up a lot of room. Sticker sets. Pins. T-shirts (they fold pretty flat). Autograph books & photo albums. Lanyards. Game card for the game room. You could bring water cameras for them to use on Castaway Cay. I am sure others will have suggestions too.

Disney pens and pencils. Small stuffed characters, the kind with magnets to hug or hold on to something. They are pretty small, maybe 3 or 4 inches, could fit in a pocket or carry-on to bring home. Keychains.

My son always buys some stuffed animals, balls etc. You could give them some disney dollars to put on the families account and they could charge their items in the ship's shops, castaway cay has a nice little shop too. Don't worry there will be plenty to choose from!~

Will you adopt me? I promise to not complain if aunt carol doesn't provide a gift, I swear!

You could always give the children Disney Dollars to pay for their own 'gifts' they pick out. Although they couldn't use them in the shop, they can be applied at Guest Services to the stateroom account.

Have you thought of getting them PJ sets? That is what I am going to give my kids for Christmas. The DD (who is 5) will get a Princess nightgown, and the DS (who is 2) will get a Buzz PJ set. That way, it relates to the cruise but still is functional!
Good luck!:D

Aunt Carol,

Take my word, you will have no problem finding a gift on board for your niece and nephew! There are 2 shops: 'Mickey's Mates' and 'Treasure Ketch'. We cruised Magic Dec 14 and took a large suitcase full of gifts for our 7 grands traveling w/us. However, once I entered the gift shop I was like a little kid in a candy store and had to buy more...LOL!! They have everything Disney imaginable from clothing to towels, games, any type of princess accessory you might think of, disney character jewelry, books, mugs, character toys and dolls, Pirate Ship w/accessories...on and on. Believe me - they will have a ball picking out a gift!
::yes::

There will be some nice souvenirs for their trip, especially on Castaway Cay. My thought is that it might be hard to get them into a store. My own kids did not have much interest in shopping - there is so many other things to do! Maybe the parents can help pick out a couple of things and take them home for you and they can put them under the tree for Christmas? I think for a kid it would be fun to open up something a week after the trip.

Also, maybe you can have The Perfect Gift deliver some gift baskets to the ship - buckets, water proof cameras, etc.

Thanks! I will probably just play it by ear on the ship.

My niece will go into the store. My newphew is a whole different child, but I he is also not very picky about gifts. They do have to open Aunt Carol gifts in front of me. Santa will be visiting them on December 25 and they will have gifts!!!

Since we are using my DVC points on this cruise, I am not having any other gifts delievered to the rooms. (Mom and Dad are on their own! LOL!)
