My husband's cousin is having twins in June... Is it taboo to give her something that they could use for the babies a christmas gift? ( They dont live around here and we will probably wont see her again until her baby shower). We usually only give each other a thought ( we got a jar of cookie mix, we gave them an ornament for their tree)..

My thought was that they are first time parents, living about 12 hours from their families and wont be moving back here until her husband finishes his schooling to be a college professor in 2 years. They live in a tiny apartment and with her not being able to work after the babies born, they are going to need some help...or would that seem rude?

I see no reason why it would be considered rude, rather appreciated.
I know when I was pregnant, I started buying stuff right away. So if someone gave something as a gift, then even better.
But if you are still not sure, you can give a check and chances are they will use it towards baby things.

OHH, I wouldn't do it... too early, something might go wrong & then you'd feel really bad... She's not due until June, perhaps you could send her Something around Easter, or at Mother's day? I know my mother wanted to give us a gift when I was pregnant with DS, he was born in March.... so I was further along, we respectfully declined any gifts until he was here... we were weird that way...
