So now that the unwrapping is all done and the after Christmas quiet has descended (here anyway - still in my jammies at 11am!! :lmao: )
What were the hits and misses for gifts at your house this year?

Santa came through here with the wii and it's been a huge hit for the whole family. my 8yo thinks his lego fire boat is the best and my 13yo really likes the portable dvd players from gramma and grampa.
As for me I was super spoiled - we got a video camera - dh got a sweet deal from tiger direct and surprised me with it - was totally unexpected and I also got the bread maker I've been wanting for the last 7 yrs :rotfl2: - fresh bread ready in about 1.5 hrs now!!

Was so nice to have both sets of grandparents here yesterday as well as my brother. We all had a great time! Was even better that I was healthy (as was the whole family) for the first time in 4 years for Christmas day!!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!:santa:

DS was really into the opening of gifts this year - he's just hit the 22 month mark, so it made for some great entertainment. :lmao:

Big hits here were the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Playset, the Plasma Car and Playdoh. The clothing was just thrown across the room (I kid you not), as he yelled "more toy!!"

DH got the Disney Parks Village (the retired one) from me, and in return I got my Panasonic FZ18 in advance of Christmas (for our recent WDW trip).

All in all, a wonderful Christmas! Hope everyone else enjoyed the day :santa:

ds7 loved his hockey stick and Walmart gift card. dd14 loved her Chapters gift card. I hate to say it, but my kids are spoiled so getting more stuff at Cmas isn't a big deal to any of us. They loved anticipation of Cmas and family visiting more than the gifts.

We went to our trailer this morning, had breakky in Acton, started a little camp fire and went for a hike in the snow. It was awesome! We saw loads of animal paw prints in the snow.

Thanks the good stuff too us! Blessings, Sandra

DS and his girlfriend bought DD a Hermit Crab. What an interesting gift. I bought DH a gift card for a ride along at the Richard Petty Driving experience at WDW. We will be there in February. He was really excited when he opened it. When we went to his parents house before he said Merry Christmas to anyone he told them about the ride along. I got a Nintendo DS with 2 Brain Age games.

Not a zero miss this year...not one bath product.:rotfl: Highlights for my gifts were Ipod Touch, diamond anniversary band, diamond eternity necklace, bottle of ice wine, Bernard Callebaut Chocolates yummy! :cool1:

We also had a good haul this year...zero misses :thumbsup2

DW bought me a PS3 along with POTC 1-3 on Blu-Ray and the Harry Potter Blu-Ray box set.

I gave her a homemade Gift Certificate for a $500 shopping spree at World of Disney when we go down in a few weeks.

Santa gave us both a Caribbean cruise for May. pirate:

Everything seemed to be a hit here.. (11 yr old daughter)
2 American Girl dolls
Video Journal
New pink keyboard/mouse
new computer chair
tons of clothes

only miss so far is girlz connect (for girlzconnect.com)- its a pretty disappointing toy so far.

We had a busy and generous day for everyone! DD(4.5) was over the moon that Santa brought her the Baby Alive doll, complete with extra food and diapers! I kid you not, this doll goes through them pretty darn quick! My DD, after about 15 minutes of feeding her doll said to me, "Mama, can you watch my baby while I go on vacation. This is hard!" I nearly fell off the floor laughing!!

DD also loved and lugged around the house, her Princesses Heys luggage! It is a tiny thing, but perfect for her, so it was a huge hit!

DH got a PS3, and is still on it right now. I got him a Hidden Mickey book for our up coming trip, which will be great for the plane!

I got a nice gift card for clothes shopping and a lovely digital frame. Those things are really cool and I can't wait to see the pics from our trip on it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Suz

The kids were excited by their webkinz, epets and barbiegirl(all internet based). However the sites were all really busy yesterday and the kids found it difficult to log on.

Hi. DD15 and Dd19 got the PT2 dance mat that they love, Santa tried for the Wii, but we hope soon. They both got tops from grandparents they are not going to wear and would prefer gift cards.:confused3

We were all thrilled with our gifts! Wii and Guitar Hero III were big hits, along with iPod speakers and cell phones. The gifts get smaller but much more expensive as the kids get older! Most importantly, our family was together, healthy and happy--that's really all we can want!:goodvibes

This year we decided to really splurge on the kids. We got them each a laptop (kids are 19,23 and 26) as they are all attending university and all will be living in a different city next year. Two of them have birthdays in Jan, so it is a combo birthday/Xmas present. DH got a great deal and they each came with a free printer!! This was quite a stretch for us but it really hurt when DH accidently spilt coffee on his laptop and had to get a new one a week before Xmas!! I got a backpack as I will be visiting Kenya (:scared1: ) in Feb. No misses this year!!

Wow what a wonderful idea! How lucky for you to go to Kenya.!!! Have a safe trip and remember to post pics!

I surprised my 2 girls with a Nintendo DS for each of them and a few games. The older one was going to buy herself one but never got around to doing it. The younger one hadn't asked for it but loves it any way. The surprised faces where totally priceless and might never be topped.

Only problem is that now I need one too. :rotfl2:

Huge hits in our house. The kids got Big Brain academy for the Wii and DK barrel blast and Dance Dance revolution and an extra dance mat (ps the game cube dance mat from toys r us for 14.99 works perfect with the wii game). In all they got 9 new wii games and toys out the wazoo LOL. I recieved 62 HD DVD's and loved every minute of opening them. The wife got 150 dollars in GC's for teh running room an new ipod nano and memory for her D80 you can never have to many memory cards for the digi cam LOL. Our 6 and 5 year olds each got new digital cameras also which they have only put down for about 5 minutes a day when they go to webkinz world to check on thier friends they each got 5 webkinz each for x mas all but the baby anyhow so now we are overrun with webkinz.

My hit was a iRobot Roomba vacuum. I used it for the first time today (wanted to get the Christmas decorations out of the way.) Pretty cool ! It did the vacuuming while I surfed the web. I think this is going to be a match made in heaven for me.

Wow! What great gifts!

As for DS, he got a PS2 (he's only 6; if he can take care of it properly, we'll upgrade when he's older), some games, Mad Science labs, a microscope, Goofy and Pluto plushes, Mickey pj set, and Jack Skellington hat, gloves and scarf, and a beginner snowboard.

As for myself, my parents really surprised me and brought out the tears. They gave me a picture frame from Disney, the wood one that says "I remember the first time ...." and had an old photo enhanced of myself at age 3 with Mickey in front of the Castle inserted. :lovestruc Underneath the picture frame was an mp3 player. Lo and behold, they had downloaded a few Disney books onto the mp3 player for my trip in March. Love it!
