I'm planning our Christmas Eve dinner and need help with the menu. I was hoping to have a roasted goose as the main course but need help with the sides/appetizers and dessert. I want this to be a very elegant/victorian dinner. There will be 10 adults and 4 kids. Can someone please help me?

This sounds like such a neat idea! However, I've never done it & don't really have any ideas/recipes for you. I'll think on it - I must have something!

In the meantime, I ran a quick Google search on Victorian recipes goose and came up with this:
Victorian Christmas. The 1st paragraph describes what would have been served, which might give you some ideas.

OK - I checked out a few more of the hits I got at Google & this one is pretty good! It includes menus & recipes for a few of the things on the menus. I might have to plan a meal like this - it just can't be for Christmas Eve as it's my Dad's b'day & he always wants spaghetti or lasagna. Menus & Recipes

thanks!!! that gave me tons of ideas!!

Or you could take the easy way out and do what we do...Chinese Food! ;)

I'm so tired by Christmas Eve that I call it a night early and don't fuss. The big meal is the next day at our house!
