We are planning to be at WDW from 12/19 to 12/26. Where is the best place to have a nice Christmas dinner? We will be DH, me, DS (22), DS (16), DS (9) and DD (7). I'm not sure if we'll be doing the dining plan, but I hope so. We are not very fancy people, but my DH LOVES to eat. He particularly likes the buffets/all you can eat places. Do they do anything special for Christmas dinner anywhere? I've never been away from home with the kids at Christmas time, and have always fixed the traditional turkey, etc., so this is going to be a bit strange. That's why I especially want it to be nice.

TIA

We were there for Christmas 1998 and I rang to make reservations for the Castle restaurant (can't remember its name) and secured seats for 1pm.

Before I booked I asked Disney which of their restaurants did a traditional Turkey Christmas dinner and they told me all of them did. But on the day we found that none of them did :sad2:

We ended up with hotdogs for Christmas DInner :(

Yeah, that happened to me last year. I spent ages researching which places would be offering a traditional turkey dinner, and eventually picked the California Grill. The menu was supposed to be roasted turkey, yam mash and seasonal roasted vegetables. The CM told me that ALL WDW restaurants offered a "festive" menu on Xmas Eve and Xmas Day. We ate a 1900 Pk Fare on Xmas Eve - no "festive" items except cookies with snowmen on! The Cali Grill was a disaster - they only offered their standard menu (nothing on which any of us where fussed about). The meal cost $200 and we had no wine and only one dessert!

TO guarantee a turkey dinner, then I would pick Liberty Tree Tavern as its offered as a "standard" item here. This is an "all you can eat" family platter so may suit your DH quite well. You get warm rolls and fresh salad, dressed with Strawberry Vinagrette (lovely!), then a platter of turkey, gammon, stuffing, mashed potatoes and a gravy boat plus veggies. Children get mac and cheese as well. Quite a nice meal!

It isn't turkey but Biergarten has a very Christmasy show and buffet that is hard to beat. Go at 1.
