Anyone have any suggestions on where to eat Christmas Dinner??? My thought was Liberty Tree Tavern at MK? :confused3
Any input would be great...

That is what we decided to do on our recently added Christmas trip. We just moved to Brandon, FL (suburbs of Tampa), and realized that with our work schedules, free dining trip, upcoming wedding, Disneymoon, and other uses of paid time off, we just won't be able to make it back up north for Christmas. We also figured it'd be a good time to go to Liberty Tree for dinner, since they are doing away with the Character Meal for dinner after the end of the year.

Well, this will be our first trip to Disney at Christmas and since the weather won't feel like Christmas, we are trying to stay with the Christmas feeling. We are staying at the WL--CL and thought the Liberty Tree Tavern would be the best place to eat Christmas Dinner. I'm still looking but not really finding anything else..

If you are planning to eat in the Mk for Xmas day...Plan on getting to the MK beforerope drop and staying the whole day until your adr time. The MK frequently closes due to capacity on Xmas and once it hits a phase 4 closing..No one gets in regardless of whether or not you have an adr.Plan accordingly

We are heading to WDW for our first Christmas trip to Disney. We will be staying at AKV but fancied visiting the WL for the Christmas decorations so we have booked Artist Point.

RMulieri,
Thanks for the info. I never thought about that. Is it nice to be at MK on Xmas Day or is it just like any other day around Christmas?

It is nice but Packed:crowded: Tons of people.Very festive, but it is absolutely the busiest day of the year for disney.

We have been to wdw for xmas week the last four years. we have made a point of not going to any park on xmas day...too crazy. If you want to eat dinner at MK, you need to have an adr(most have done this at 180 days this year) and get to MK befoe 10am and plan on staying there-MK has closed to all guests (including resort) guest by 10 am each year. Even if you have an adr they will not let you into the park if its at max capacity.

2005, we had breakfast (late 10:30am) at BOMA and then went to DTD for a movie and had xmas dinner at Artist Point in WL, it was beautiful and put you in the xmas spirit. 2006 we went to CP for xmas eve with dinner in Japan, then xmas day had breakfast at 1900PF(great food and atmosphere) and shopped at DTD and then very late dinner at CG (9:15pm) but got there early enought to see Wishes!-great food and wonderful view of MK. Last year we went back to !1900PF for breakfast, then went to ICE! at Gaylord Palms Hotel and dinner at Boma. Great all 3 times and didn't miss the craziness of the parts for the holiday.
I am not sure if you are talking xmas 2008, but if you don't have adr for this year, you may not have many options.

No, I'm not talking this year..it is x-mas 2009.

Thanks for all the suggestions... I really appreciate the advice and info.. :worship: So far the advice I have gotten has been not to go to the parks...and eat at Artist Point. Since we are staying at WL, we may just do that.:goodvibes

We have ADR for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue on Christmas day -- thought the kids would enjoy something "fun" more than "fancy"! Looking forward to it!

Hi

We area also going to ICE during the day, then have an ADR at Cirticos at 7.20pm:banana:

It was a difficult one this Christmas as we have ages ranges from 70 to 16, so I'm hoping I've got it right??:confused3

Am keeping it secret from both grandmas.... so should be a great surprise for them both!!

Where ever you decide... make sure you book asap!!

We went to ICE! last xmas day after our late breakfast at 1900PF.It was very neat and only about 15 minutes from GF. Nice holiday treat and then we relaxed at resort, shopped at DTD and had a late dinner at Boma. Wonderful holiday!
