When do they typically decorate the ships for the Xmas holidays? Do they offer special holiday activities?

Thanks,

Day After Thanks Giving is when i Believe they Go up...

They have always been there when we sail on the Wonder on Thanksgiving day, and last year we were treated to the tree lighting ceremony on Castaway Cay too. Hopefully they will continue that this year.

We were on the Wonder for a 4-day over Veterans Day in 2003. When we got on the ship, we noticed they were loading some artificial trees and stuff and sure enough, each morning we would wake up to more decorations.

I am a holiday decorations FREAK......Oh my poor husband, one night we were walking around the ship VERY late and these two ladies were working their magic decorating the area and I plopped in a chair and announced that I was going to sit there all night and learn their decorating secrets! My husband finally got me to leave but he was totally embarrassed. I told him that at least I was behaving and I didn't throw my resume at them, and I didn't try to climb the ladders with them, and I didn't start fluffing out the branches---I CONTROLLED MYSELF :-)

On that trip, we had one of the shutters pictures of us with Mickey and Minnie in front of one of the huge Christmas trees taken and we had it made into the Christmas cards that they do on the ship.........it is my favorite picture and a great memory.

I have no idea if they always decorate that week or not, that is just my experience.

Last year when we boarded they had put up the greens on 11/15. That Saturday night they put up & decorated the main tree in the atrium. That was a total surprise to us since we hadn't expected anything. Now we are spoiled. We don't want to cruise without the Christmas decorations! I even picked up a bunch of Santa hats for pictures after Christmas. :)

Ok. Reading this thread just made my night! We're crusing the week before Thanksgiving, and I was sad that we'd miss seeing some of the decorations. Now there may be a chance!
