Christmas Decorations

When do the Christmas Decorations come down? I cannot get to Disney between Thanksgiving and New Years because I am a hairdresser and we are not allowed to take vacatione during these times. Since New Years Day 2005 falls on a Saturday, we are planning on leaving New Years Eve after I finish work, since New Years Day is a Paid Holiday, and I wouldn't have to be back to work till after I get back from vacation. We are planning on a land & sea cruise package. I am hoping that the decorations will still be up on the 1st or 2nd of January.

Anyone out there been there and has an answer for me.

I have heard that decorations are up until around Jan. 6th. Maybe others can post about how late they've seen them.

When we were at the WL last month they took down the resort Christmas decorations the night of Jan. 11/ morning Jan. 12.

We were there the first week of January, 2004 (3rd-7th) and stayed at the GF. All the decorations were up while we were there. Only the Magic Kingdom had removed theirs by Tuesday morning (1/6). We visited some of the other resorts and parks and they still had everything displayed. The GF did have their gingerbread house up, but started dismantling it on Tuesday. The parks also played continuous Christmas carols during our stay. If you're going to be there 1/1 & 1/2, definitely plan on the decorations being up and the parks being very crowded.

The park decorations were all down before the marathon which is usually about Jan 8-11 or there abouts (Sunday). We started seeing them disappear about Jan 6 or 7. The resorts were a little longer with WL going down right after the marathon. In 2005, the marathon will be Jan 9.

Our plans are to get down there on the 1st or 2nd of January and do one of the seven day land & sea cruise packages that week. The land part of the cruises are at the beginning of the package, starting January 1 for the one, January 2 for the other, so the way it sounds from all your answers the decorations will still be up. :bounce:
