Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here, and I am so happy I found this site! I have been going to Disney every year for a while now, but never knew this forum existed!
Anyways, my husband and I will be heading to Disney at the end of October for our anniversary, staying October 30th-November 5th. I know Halloween decorations will be up for the first two days of our stay, but has anyone been there the first few days of November? I know the first Mickey's Christmas Party starts November 8th, but we am hoping to see at least the magic kingdom decorated for Christmas. Does anyone know when they begin decorating for Christmas, and what parks/sections of the parks will be decorated if any? Our last park day will be November 4th, and we have park hoppers so theoretically, we could visit Magic Kingdom as last as November 4th. Thanks in advance!

MK's holiday decor should be substantially up by the 4th.

:welcome: to the DISboards, PDettorre !

So how much is actually up on the 3rd?? We are heading home on the 4th but I would be willing to change my plans around on the 3rd if it is decorate at night at MK!!

Unknown.
The timing of the decorating can change every year.

It can be directly affected by current staffing and budgetary conditions.
Sometimes, they have done the bulk of the change from Halloween to Christmas decor "overnight."
But, sometimes it has taken multiple nights.
Citing what has happened last year may or may not indicate what will occur this year.

Other factors such as weather can affect the time it takes to change over.

The date of the parade filming will dictate when the MK is usually completed. Most years the tree will not be up until after the taping. Same for the garlands across Main Street.

That changed 2-3 years ago.

They no longer build a "review stand" for the parade hosts in Town Square, so the tree can now go up with the rest of the MK decorations.

For the Parade show, they no longer even have hosts seated behind a desk.
Now they have what Disney likes to promote as "celebrities" standing in the crowd along the route.

They don’t film the parade at MK at all anymore. Parade is taped at DL. Only performances are taped throughout WDW.

Thank you all for the information. Seems as though we will most likely get to see MK decorated for Christmas at least a little bit before we leave. I will update when I return!

I was at MK on the 3rd last year and it was full-on Christmas decor!

YAY! I am so happy the hear that! Thank you! We were hoping to spend the day there October 31st before the Halloween Party to see the Halloween decorations (even though we have been there for Halloween a million times, but my husband loves it!) and then we were planning to stay in MK for the day on November 3rd as well, because we have a dining reservation that morning at Crystal Palace, so i was really hoping to see the decorations there on the 3rd because Christmas is my favorite time of year and we have never seen the parks decorated for Christmas!

Garland no longer goes "across" Main Street, because of the FoF parade, the floats are higher.
