Can anyone tell me when the Christmas decorations usually go up at Fort Wilderness and at the parks? Thanks!

It varies from year to year as far as who gets decorated first.Usually somewhere around Thanksgiving, maybe a little earlier, theyll start, and theyll do a section of property at a time.

I can tell you that this year, the decorations at the Fort went up the night of Nov 24. I am referring to the tree, lights and garland around Pioneer Hall. They magically appeared overnight, a day before Thanksgiving.

MK will be all decked out in time for the first MVMCP (this year 11/10) - exception may be the big tree, which for the last 2 years, hasn't gone up until after the Christmas parade taping weekend.

This year HS was fully decorated when Osborne lights started 11/10 - but last year that didn't start until the day after Thanksgiving, so not sure about next year.

This year EP and AK were decorated during our last week there (sometime between 11/14-11/20) and AK had already started the Jingle Jungle parade.

We left 11/20 and at that point hadn't seen much at all in the way of decorations at the resorts (incl. FW) although I believe the gingerbread house at GF opened mid-November.

DTD was fully decked out pretty early in November.

Aside from Osborne, this has been the schedule the past few years. Of course the way things are going, who knows what 2010 will bring??

And of course the campers at FW start around Thanksgiving. Everything is very decorated right now. Lots of effort from lots of campers.
