Did anyone decorate thier room for the Christmas season while staying at Disney. If so how? Going in Christmas 2005 and would love to hear how other have fixed their rooms up for the season.
Tree? How tall? Lights?

We participated in a DVC member Christmas tree passing. It was really nice! We also bought our own lights and strung them around the room. We intended to put them on the balcony, but had a 1st floor villa with no rails to put them on.

We were at AKL 12/17-12/27. We flew down so we brought with us:
I bought $3 fiber optic battery powered 1 foot tree at the Dollar store. We lit the tree every evening and all day on Christmas on one set of 2 AA batteries. We put it on the armoire. We left it for mousekeeping(needed room for souvies). We also got 4 sheets of window clings at $1 each (dollar general) . The kids decorated the mirrors and sliding glass door.
It was festive and cheap and easy.

Mistletoe! Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots . . .

We stayed off site, but did decorate. I had purchased a 4' artifical tree at a yard sale. Should have checked it out before we packed it, because it was ugly and the stand was missing. We put it in the top of an artificial rubber type plant in the room (which had a hole in the top of the center pole), and ran the lights down the tree and the plant. Then we decorated the whole thing with the non-breakable Disney ornaments I brought along. It was different, and just strange enough to be fun.

We also brought one of those lightup spiral trees like you would put in your yard for the patio. That was a nice touch.

The stockings and small gifts came along as well. We left the majority of the gifts at home and it was nice to have relatives over on 1/2 and open them all. It battled the post vacation blues.

We decorate our room/window all the time - non season... we have plans for our trip in a couple weeks... bought christmas lights on sale after the holiday this past week, bringing decorations - garland, etc... and our pooh blanket for the back ground...
and then just keep adding our pics, souveniers in the window as we purchase them.
After 10 days our window is always full and have several comments every trip.

We are also going to WDW at Christmas 2005. We will be staying at the SSR in a grand villa with 12 family members. We plan on bringing a 7.5" SLIM ( very narrow but tall) prelite tree with a box of Disney ornaments and Disney tree skirt. The tree box is small enough to fit in our mini van when we travel. Dh thought about checking out if we can ship it to the resort in advance. Would like to know if anyone has shipped decorations to their resort before?

We will have a full size kitchen and plan to bring kitchen supplies to bake a turkey and bake cookies in the room while we are there. Packing Disney Scene it and Trivia Pursuit games to play and a small CD player to play Christmas music. Other than that maybe some lights for the balcony? or windows? Wonder if they would get mad if we put fake snow on the windows? We will clean them before we leave! Heehee! Anything else to make it magical and special.

We have shipped to our rooms before. It worked out fine.

When we went in Dec 02 we bought a little 3ft tree but we were there over xmas, this year we will be leaving WDW on the 24th so my girls have decided to just put some lights up in the windows and maybe hang the mini-disney stockings.
