How do the Christmas decorations look in both the resorts and parks this year? I was watching Decorating Disney today with my daughter and it got me to thinking about how the decorations are looking post COVID. It’s been well documented how much Disney has been scaling back in most aspects of the WDW vacation experience, but I am really hoping that Disney’s focus on cost savings isn’t bleeding into skimping on decorations. Our next vacation isn’t until February so I won’t be there to experience decorations for myself. The parks/resorts have always been so beautiful at Christmas…don’t be a Scrooge by messing with that, Disney!!

Most of the decorations like trees, garland, etc. reside in huge warehouses during the off season, so there's little to skimp on. And the GF gingerbread house is up, the BC carousel is up, a gingerbread giraffe just appeared at AKL, so it seems like the decorations are still being assembled and put in place.

Good to know. Thank you! Even though all the decorations are in a warehouse, it still takes manpower/labor to put them up. That was one of my concerns. First, there has been a reduction in CMs. Second, the cost to literally put up the decorations (even through Disney owns them) isn’t cheap. I was hoping Disney wouldn’t skimp. Good to hear that everything is still as festive as ever!

Yes, I'm not sure that they're going up as quickly as they used to, but they're definitely going up!

Here now. There is much less than in the past. (Was not here in 2020, so can:t compare). Very few poinsettias. GF gingerbread house is awesome, though.

Overall, I'm feeling a little disappointed in the resort & park decorations. YMMV.

Ugh, thanks for sharing. I heard similar feedback from someone at work. That’s definitely disappointing and what I was hoping against. Disney is skimping wherever they can and that is disappointing…but it is “on brand” for Disney based on their decisions/actions over the last two years. Before COVID we did WDW several times for Christmas, but like you we haven’t experienced WDW at Christmas since COVID. Disney’s revenues have bounced back in a major way, so the whole cost cutting due to COVID excuse has expired.

When did the Wilderness lodge decorations go up this year?

I can’t like this, but I do agree with It. We arrived yesterday. We were here December 2019. Decorations are scarce. It is disappointing.

We just returned and was hoping for a bit more festival feel in the parks.
Main Street looks great, but after that it is hard to find much.
I remember a few years ago Toy Story land was decorated and was so adorable. Sad those decorations weren’t out. DD loved taking her pics with them.
Wilderness Lodge was beautiful and I loved staying there. Fort Wilderness also felt very festive and I hope to stay there next year.

That's unfortunate. Looks like 100% of the usual decorations are up in Disneyland this year, including the gingerbread house in Grand Cal and all of the garlands and lights along Main Street.
