DH and I normally go to WDW the week after Thanksgiving. We are contemplating switching our trip this year, to the week before Thanksgiving so we can catch the end of the F&W Festival. I know some of the parks are decorated for Christmas by then, but when do the resorts start decorating? We'll be staying at the BWV. Thanks!

We did that last year .... It worked out great ..... The GF was fully decorated the first Tuesday after F&W, the WL was as well. I think it was Thursday when the Epcot area resorts were decorated.

We were at WL two years ago the week before Thanksgiving and decorations did not go up until the Thursday night of that week. We got back to the resort after midnight and got to see them putting up the trees and garland. Since we were checking out the next day (Friday before Thanksgiving week), we had to come back in Dec to see all the decorations.

As soon as the Halloween decorations have been taken down the day after Halloween, the Christmas decorations start.

They are normally done at night and it is not surprising to go out in the lobby next morning and they are completed.

It is only guaranteed that everything will be up the Saturday after Thanksgiving, with the exception of the MK tree, which is put up after the parade taping the following weekend.

With the slowing economy and some small cutbacks, the Christmas decorations have not been put up as early as they have been in past years.

I have been the week before Thanksgiving and decorations were everywhere!

I went the week before Thanksgiving in 2010. All the parks were fully decorated, the Gingerbread House at the GF was completed. However, we left on a Thursday morning (exactly one week before Thanksgiving) and the resorts themselves were not decorated one iota.
