Can anyone suggest a something really cool to do on Christmas day whilst in florida?

We Would like to so something really special. Has anyone got some suggestions on where to eat?

Also our son is a massive star wars and lego fan (he's 7) would it be better for me to buy a few small christmas presents before i leave the UK and get him a few more once in Florida?Where are the best places to pick up things such as star wars and Lego?

I know that in MGM ,there's the shop by the satr wars attraction, but is there anywhere else i could try?and also the Lego shop in DTD.

We won't be going mad on Christmas presents (like we normally do) but i would feel so mean not getting him anything, and he's still at the age were he belives in the man himself!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT.

We did DC for the 2 christmas days we were there. At at Ohanas. Saw the faireworks and the electric parade and it was amazing. The second year we did the trainer for a day and I was shattered. So we had a cosy night in with champagne and takeaway pizza.

Now due to time constraints we fly christmas day.

Whatever you do it will be fab, but the parks are manic!

The lego shop at DTD is great to pick up some pressies but could you do it without you son seeing?

Good luck in whatever you chose!

Don't mean to be stupid but by DC, do you mean discovery Cove?

I am keen to find out if discovery cove is open on Christmas Day and if they do anything special for Christmas.

On out last trip to Florida we did Discovery cove, but our son was to yound to do the swim. This year he'll be able to do it.

DC is open on Christmas day I have heard of a few people going there for Christmas Day and having a lovely time. I am not sure if they do anything special but am sure the menu would have a Christmas theme at lunch.

We are staying at the Contemporary and plan to walk to MK early, stay until the 12:30 parade then chill back at the hotel before dinner at Ohanna's. (although I'll probably change my mind a good few times between now and Christmas :teeth: )

Yes DC Discovery Cove.

No they didn't do any different food for christmas day, but the whole day was amazing.

Book early though as they sell out fast for christmas day.

We spent Christmas Day 2004 at Discovery Cove and loved it. There did not appear to be any Christmassy things going on but we had great value for money by arriving at 8.30am and leaving at 5.30pm!

After our dolphin swim we were quite happy to sit on our loungers and watch the dolphins. The kids were in and out of the water all day and by the time we left they were exhausted.

The meal was the normal DC fare - no Christmas lunch here! We just ate the evening meal in our hotel. May of the restaurants outside of the parks were closed on 25th Dec.

I found it a great and memorable thing to do on Christmas Day - one present for the whole family! Plus it was a lovely respite from the busy parks.

We did have very good weather perhaps it would not have been so enjoyable if it had been raining or cold.

We spent Christmas in Disney last year and stayed in a one bedroom at OKW. On Christmas Eve my DW decided that afterall she wanted to make her own Christmas dinner so we cancelled our Christmas Day ressy ay LTT.

On the 25th itself we watched the Disney Chrsitmas parade and ate a fantastic dinner (turkey from Walmart), drank a bottle of champagne that we won on the outbound Virgin flight and really relaxed - it was brilliant.

At 20:30 we got on a bus and went over to the MK to soak up the atmosphere - althogh it was packed, it was unbelievable!

Highly recommeded for Christmas. :thumbsup2

MK will be jam packed :crowded: on Christmas Day - although there is a fantastic atmosphere! :thumbsup2 If you decide to go there, just be aware that it will be really busy and they may stop allowing entry quite early in the day if MK is full to capacity! :teeth:

We just opened our gifts from Santa, went for a family meal on I-Drive and then chilled out at the hotel the last time we were there on Christmas Day. :goodvibes
