Were headed down to DVC at the beginnng of december with our DD's and would love to take then to the taping of the Christmas day parade.
I wonder what talent they'll have performing this year?

Anyone have info on this?

Have you been to the taping before?

This is a television production, not a parade. Lots of people and a very choppy parade that starts, stops, and repeats for the best camera angles. The Guests are sometimes placed in the shot by production people and are not allowed to leave until their done filming. Guests dressed in full holiday clothes are invited to stand in front, others are moved to the rear.

No we haven't been before and I know the DD's would love it. Just need to find out when it is

Remember that the live guest entertainers aren't always a part of the main taping. Segments can be taped at different times, on different days, and edited together. We saw the dance team team with the snowflakes from the 2008 parade during an additional taping a day prior to the main taping.

It's my understanding it starts VERY early (before the park opens). We were interested in attending when we found that out plus the start/stop aspect. I remember talking to someone who went who never even saw the whole parade. For the most part, it was a lot of standing around. Whoever I talked to said they woud never do it again - too boring.

As we get closer to December you'll see a lot of info popping up on the taping. I seem to remember you had to get your name on a list (or get tickets or something like that) - you can't just walk up. They tape over 2 or 3 mornings.

Unless they change it, the taping has historically been the first weekend of December. Chuck, I seem to remember some one saying that even the hosts (can't remember their names) weren't even at the parade taping. They taped their comments at a later date.

Good luck with getting in!
