Christmas Day meal/reservation?

My wife and I have decided to stay at home (Pasadena) instead of going back to Pittsburgh for our first Christmas by ourselves. Coincidentally, having just moved to the area, we purchased annual passes to Disneyland (365 day access) and think going there on Christmas Day would be kinda cool.

Based on the phone message I receive, am I correct in that I cannot make X-mas day dining reservations until Oct. 25th (60 days prior)?

Also its just the two of us and we are in our early 30s but my wife specifically said she wants to eat someplace with Christmas day type food (turkey, ham, etc). Does Storyteller's cafe do something like that?

Thx!

Storytellers has it's regular menu, I believe, but the Disneyland Hotel Ballroom puts on a holiday meal with all the trimmings. That would be what you want to book.

I imagine that the holiday meal is great. After all, they do a killer Mother's Day brunch - which I love and did a great blog on and other holiday meals that we don't do because we have it with relatives.

If you want to see what one of these massive ballroom brunches looks like, here's a link to the Mother's Day Brunch blog. It will give you an idea of what kind of spread to expect, even though it isn't the Christmas Holiday meal.

Storyteller's has a special Christmas Buffet on Christmas Day. We did it in 07. It is great! You should definetly do it. It is 60 days for reservations/PS. As for Disneyland Hotel, they do not do the big brunch for Christmas.

DL on Xmas morning is great first thing in the morning until around 1 or 2 pm when the locals start arriving! We had a lot of rides finished early and spent the late afternoon and evening outside of the park with dinner at Storytellers and went back in later to end the evening with the fireworks.

Jacky B = thanks for the correction. I thought I had seen something about it one year and had made a mental note that if we bailed on the relatives... you get the gist....

However that could have been many years ago.... ;)

YellowMickeyPonchos: We were hoping that they would have the big brunch meal thingy at DLH for Xmas! But the Storytellers special buffet for christmas day was really nice and we would do it again if we went over the holidays! It is such a nice restaurant to enjoy dinner. We actually sat next to the fireplace too and it seemed more like Christmas :)

If the Christmas dinner is anything like the Thanksgiving dinner that Storyteller's offers, I would second eating there. The food at Thanksgiving was very tasty. The buffet isn't huge, but there was enough variety to more than satisfy everyone in our group. And the atmosphere for a holiday meal with family can't be beat.

Thanks for all of that helpful info. Since my wife and I are going to try and get there early in the morning, we'd probably like to do a X-mas lunch or eat around 2-3. Would that be possible at Storyteller's X-Mas Buffet? Or will it only be available for dinner?

I think it is only for dinner, but I don't know what hours Storytellers has for their dinner menu. I would call the dining number and see if you can get an idea on their dinner hours. It may also change during the holidays as well.
